Book of Madness 2 Review—Editor’s Impressions
We’ve covered numerous horror-themed games in our slot reviews. Typically, they opt for a friendly and cutesy vibe—less A Nightmare on Elm Street and more Casper the Friendly Ghost. But, as we’ll discuss in this Book of Madness 2 slot review, Gamomat has gone all-in on the horror theme, with gory reels and an evil cast of characters joining features such as Wilds and Free Spins.
Book of Madness 2 Slot Overview
Classic playing card icons (10-A) make up the lower symbols in this slot, while the highest-payers consist of a Nurse, Mummy, Rat, and Jar, all of which wouldn’t look out of place in a horror film.
As with other “Book of” online slots, the titular book symbol in this Gamomat title is both the Wild and the Scatter.
Book of Madness 2 RTP, Payout, and Volatility
Book of Madness 2 features a blood-soaked game grid, with five slot reels, three rows, and five or 10 paylines (toggle between these two options using the “Lines” icon). The Book of Madness 2 slot demo that we played carried an RTP of 96.11%, but this can vary by online casino.
Volatility is high, so dry spells are common.
The volatility might be worth it in the end, though, as the Book of Madness 2 slot machine has a win cap of 11,800x.
Book of Madness 2 Mobile
If not for the bloodied stethoscope on the chequered tile floor, it would be hard to decipher the game’s setting on mobile. The hospital walls are removed to account for the smaller size, and the grid takes up most of the screen. The spooky soundtrack remains, and those intense visuals seem even more eye-catching. What it loses in size it more than makes up for in impact. Play Book of Madness 2 on iOS or Android to see if you agree.
Book of Madness 2 Graphics and Gaming Experience
The music kicks in like a jump scare—a droning, foreboding sound punctuated with menacing violins. The backdrop goes all out, depicting an abandoned hospital draped in blood. Add some gory reels and sinister characters, and you have a horror slot for true fans of the genre, one that doesn’t pull any punches.
Book of Madness 2 Bonus Features
The book symbol is a Wild Scatter, so in addition to substituting for other symbols, it also triggers the Free Spins (for three, four, and five Scatters) and provides an instant win of 2x, 20x, or 200x.
Book of Madness 2 Free Spins Feature
At the start of the Book of Madness 2 Free Spins, the game chooses a Bonus symbol from any of the main game icons. This symbol can then transform into a full reel during the feature. If you reveal three or more Scatters, you’ll unlock an extra 10 Free Spins, with another Bonus symbol chosen for each re-trigger.
The feature is fairly short and sweet, and the high volatility makes it tough to trigger. We took 284 spins of the slot demo of Book of Madness 2 before it unlocked, and with no retriggers or big wins thereafter, we didn’t get much from that initial trigger.
It’s to be expected from such a high volatility slot, though, and the same is true for many top online slots.

Book of Madness 2 Slot Summary
This is easily one of the best-looking horror slots we’ve seen. Gamomat has left no stone unturned in the visuals department. The Wild/Scatter combination and Free Spins feature ensure there’s plenty of substance, as well as style, but the lack of additional base game features and high volatility mean this game won’t be for everyone.
If you like horror-themed video slots that don’t tame down their visuals, and you don’t mind high volatility, check it out. Get started with a Book of Madness 2 free play before deciding whether you want to spin for real money.
A slot from Gamomat and based on a scary hospital theme suitable for Halloween, comes with a player friendly 0.05 per spin if you play 5 lines or 0.10 per spin if you play all 10 lines. It has your standard 3 rows and 5 reels.
There is a free spins feature with this game as you would expect from a book of type game and all you need is those 3 scatters or more and you start with 10 spins and get a special symbol as you do in all book games. Great thing about this game is that you do get ability to retrigger the free spins and if you do then you get another special symbol added, up to 9 symbols.
The music and sound effects are really suitable and I would have to say give it a spooky scary feel to the game.
The max win with this slot is a rather good 11,800x bet making it a very attractive halloween type of game to play with such a high max win. It does have high volatiliy so keep that in mind as you play this game to see how it plays for you in a session.
Average number of spins to get a feature I found during my real mode plays was about 59 spins per feature and that would be because the game ran well for me and the average feature paid around 48x bet.
Gamomat as usual likes to include gamble features and they do it with this as well where you get both the ladder or the card gambles, thus any win you get can be gambled for bigger wins if you are brave enough to risk it for the biscuit.
As for the RTP that is with this slot, it is at a max of 96.11% making it a very good RTP however I played the 92.11% RTP version because that was what was available at the casino I played at however with this low RTP the slot still played very well for me.
There is no option for bonus buys on this game but that is one of those things that only matter if bonus buys are your thing. I did also play the game in demo mode and found that it can take a long time to get the 3 scatters or more to trigger a feature so while I did get the features easily during my real mode play it can be tough if you are not having luck with it.
