Book of Lords is one of the latest releases from Amatic Industries. A video slot with 5 reels, three rows, and 10 Paylines. Book of Lords, is another clone of the original, Book of Ra slot from Novomatic! However, this game type never fails to find to attract many players, in the hope to hit a full screen of the explorer symbol in the Free spins, that would pay a massive 5.000x bet!
Finally, the graphics and sounds have been upgraded at a proper level. The scenery taking place inside an Egyptian pyramid, there where a female explorer, will start her quest for gold. Inside the pyramid you will see hieroglyph marked royals of Anubis, Bastet, Hathor, and the female explorer, awarding wins from 75x to 500x your bet when five land on a line. At the low end with the card royals from 10 through to A, paying 10x to 15x your bet for a single five of a kind.
Land 3 to 5 book scatters anywhere on the reels in one spin to trigger 10 Free spins, which can be re-triggered indefinitely. Before the bonus round starts, one of the nine regular pay symbols is selected as the special symbol. This is, the moment where the slot can produce the maximum win on a single spin. The selected special symbol has to be the female explorer and if five land in the view across the reels, they will expand to pay 10 times the single line win for a five-of-a-kind, which is 500x bet, resulting in a total of 5.000x your bet!
In my opinion, the Book of Lords is another alternative for the expanding symbol mechanic, with high volatility and win potential.

I’ve seen and come across so many title variations on a ‘Book’ game, from Ra, the dead, ancient tribes, fruits and whatever else that can be put into a book. Maybe one day we’ll see the latest book game with a title like Book Of Aliens, hahaha. Nope, aliens are not mythical creatures, they are indeed real, but not proven as yet, due to various cover-ups, but that’s another book story, but yes, Book Of Lords is indeed a real and true game, hehehe.
Coming from Amatic Industries, I can safely and surely say that this game was intended as an updated version of Amatic’s earlier game, Book Of Aztec. The paytables are identical, the win values of the symbols are also identical, but the icons are now much better presented visually, so the overall look of the game has been improved by quite a lot. The only question in my mind is, who the heck are the Lords? I can only see the Lady explorer, but no lords anywhere. Maybe those animal creatures are supposed to be the lords, who knows, but who cares anyway, hehehe.
The Wild and Scatter symbol, the Book, has an Ankh on its cover, but it isn’t a book of Ankhs. However, get all 5 of them on the reels and you’d probably go ankh-ed. Nonetheless, you’d still only get 10 free spins from those 5 Books, with nothing more and nothing less, unless you get retriggers for more free spins. The Lady is of course the highest paying symbol, at 500x for getting 5 of her, or 5000x for getting all 15 of her during the free spins play. That’s the maximum possible single win and it certainly wouldn’t come easily at all.
More importantly, how does this Book Of Lords perform as compared to the older Book Of Aztec? Well, to be very honest, I only had one play session on the game, but from what I had observed, the two games tended to play quite similarly. What does that mean? It simply means that the good big wins were damn hard to get! Hahaha. I gave the game more than 700 spins in total, and the best win that I could get was a lousy 67x my stake amount, which was quite ridiculous actually, considering the number of spins done on the game. No retriggers were encountered during my play, so each of the feature games could only pay very lowly. Sorry to say too, but I certainly won’t be playing this game again in the future.
