Seeing any game with a dolphin image always reminds me of my old favourite Dolphin Reef game by Playtech. Seeing the dolphin in this Atlantic Wilds game from Gamomat caught my curiosity and made me wonder if it’s a similar game to Dolphin Reef, but after glancing into the game, it certainly isn’t.
Atlantic Wilds play with 30 lines, but the lines are selectable, so players can play with 10, 20, or 30 lines, whichever they prefer. The starting bet is therefore either 10, 20 or 30 cents per spin, and the number of lines can be changed at any time during play. The Dolphin is the Wild symbol, as expected, but it pays a very low 33x the bet amount for a 5-of-a-kind win. The other symbols have even lower win values, about 13x down to 3x, making this game a low to medium volatility game. Getting 3 Bonus symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 would pay a 2x win, and awards 5 free spins with additional Wild symbols added onto the reels. Yes, that means all 5 reels can be fully stacked with Wilds, for a maximum win of 1000x, and the free spins can be retriggered as well.
The Dolphin Wild can either appear singularly or in stacks on the reels, both in the base game and during the free spins play, but there’s absolutely no win multipliers to boost up the wins. So don’t expect to get huge wins on this game, although good wins are indeed possible, especially when you get those stacked Wilds on 3 or more reels. Getting 3 more Bonus symbols during the free spins would add 5 more free spins, but the retriggers do not come often, and it doesn’t retrigger for many times either. The most I’ve gotten was just one retrigger, and that wasn’t exciting enough, sad to say.
Playing this Atlantic Wilds game can be fun when the Wilds do come stacked frequently, providing lots of minor wins, and that keeps the game going on for a longer playtime. However, the game isn’t interesting enough and some players may get bored real quickly. I managed to stay interested for about an hour at most, then it was quitting time already. Would I come back for more plays? Most likely not!
