Alpha Squad is a Superhero style version from BetOnSoft and though I’m not a big fan of this type of slot and that’s why my experience is limited but in my opinion it’s a slightly worse interpretation of the theme than some bigger developers’ works. At very first time I played this game was when a casino organized a slot tournament on it and found it a good opportunity to get familiar with it and maybe finally like an action rich game.
The game graphically complies with the modern requirements and contains some futuristic style symbols and heroes illustrating their powers and basically despite being an ‘outsider’ somehow I like its view and the decent animations. Maybe the power waves and flashes and the background sounds are too much for my taste (forgive me I’m already an old man and the changes don’t come easy).
The slot on 30-paylines offers its services which are not too bad. The Alpha Squad symbol is the Wild and also can present the most valuable 5 of a kind type win and the attached max. 8000 winnable coins. From such a colour and rich game I would expect the Wild has added function and multiply the wins but unfortunately the creators thought it other way. Scatter is only scatter and five of them anywhere on the reels mean 150 times of total bet is credited and to the Hero Attack free spin feature we can get through 3 or more Alpha Base emblems on the screen that can award us 6-24 extra games. Then an automatically randomly chosen character (and a multiplier value, it’s usually x2) out of 3 can show us its powers as during free spins it turns a selected figure on the table into Wild at the end of each and every spins.
Usually this feature can bring some nice rewards to the table and it’s worth to wait for it but in normal game, playing with €1.20 total bet the bigger wins don’t want to show themselves. Lots of lesser paying winning combinations are occurred (x2-x5 of total bet) but the real big, eye-popping ones are not every day guests here. That’s the area where I see some needed development.
Nevertheless, sometimes I just pop in for some spins and on rare occasion I could leave with some unexpected rewards. It’s a good, rewarding, decent game and I guess it’s a fine representative of its kind and surprisingly I like it more than I initial thought but I’m sure it definitely won’t be my preferable slot type but I easily can imagine if someone loves these hero style games, Alpha Squad can be a great choice to spend some time around the favourite subject.
