When I stumbled upon this Wild Dolphin game from GameArt, whilst browsing through a casino's list of games, I was kinda attracted to it, because it immediately reminded me of Playtech's Dolphin Reef, one of my top favourite games of all time. I haven't played Wild Dolphin before, I didn't know how well the game would play and pay, and so I was keen on giving it a try. But knowing how new games tend to be nowadays, I took the wise way - I played the game for a few hours in the fun mode, to get a better feel of the game.
But of course, I have always known and truly believe, that playing in the fun mode can never be the same as playing with real money. I have even proven this for a few of Playtech's Marvel Super Heroes games, complete with lots of comparative illustrations. And Wild Dolphin is yet another game that follows this trend. The few hours that I played it in the fun mode were simply unbelievable! The Free Spins game came very often, every game gave a few retriggers, with up to 4 retriggers in one game, with a best win of 347x my bet amount! All the other Free Spins games were paying from 40x and above, with nothing lesser than that, which was, and is, absolutely beyond believe! No game would ever pay that good in the real money mode! And to satisfy my curiosity, I made a small deposit, took a matching bonus, and ventured into the deep blue sea to see how well and how truly good this Wild Dolphin game could be.
Before going into that bit, let's look at the paytable first. Always my first stop-over before playing any new game. The Dolphin is the Wild symbol, paying an incredible 900x the total bet for 5 of them, plus doubling all wins with it. Amazing! The Pearl is the Scatter symbol, also paying a marvelous 500x the total bet for 5 of them. 3 or more Scatters award the Free Spins game of 15 free spins with all wins tripled. Again, amazing! The Pufferfish pays 75x, the Seahorse pays 40x, the Angelfish pays 25x, the Clownfish 25x, whilst the others pay from 12.5x to 10x, all per total bet for 5 of each kind. A very good paytable, and the first very high variance game that I have come across from GameArt.
Do I even need to elaborate how my real money game went as compared to my game in the fun mode? Only one word can describe it all...DISASTROUS! I simply couldn't believe that the game I was playing with my real money was the same game as the one I had played in the fun mode. It was, and is, like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hide! Super good in the fun mode, super killing in the real money mode! My total starting bankroll of $40 never saw one single Free Spins game, playing at the minimum bet of $0.10 up to $0.20 all the way! A total of over 300 or 400 spins, if I'm not mistaken. I lost count of the spins because I was getting too furious with the blardy game!
I thought playing the game 'HellBoy' was my worst experience, but this Wild Dolphin game beats HellBoy without any effort at all. GameArt, to me, is becoming another Microgaming, and I don't like it at all. Not ever!
