So what about this Kawaii Kitty game from BetSoft? Looking at the game itself, you wouldn't be able to say from which original game it is cloned from. It isn't that obvious, which is actually good, but the gameplay and payouts could not match those of the original game. Perhaps this is intended, to bring in more revenue for the game provider, from players trying out this 'new' game, but this would never last for long. Discerning players would soon enough get bored and disappointed. Knowing players would avoid playing it again after a first try. Only new players may find some joy and entertainment in such games, but for how long? I really wonder.
If you haven't yet got a clue as to what game this Kawaii Kitty is cloned from, then let me tell you. Within BetSoft itself, it's another clone of Fruit Zen. Within the overall gaming market, it's another clone of Starburst. Yes, Starburst, yet nothing in Kawaii Kitty looks familiar, doesn't it? Until you play the game, that is. How Kawaii Kitty plays, how it pays, are all very similar to Starburst and Fruit Zen. Even the paytables are identical! But cats lovers may love this cat game over the fruits version, or the star version, but for me, such things make no difference, but I do appreciate a better looking game than not. So, is Kawaii Kitty looking better than Fruit Zen? Hmm, not to me.
The game plays with 10 paylines, paying both ways as in Starburst, with the Yarn as the Wild symbol. It appears only on reels 2, 3 and 4, it doesn't pay anything for itself, it doesn't double any wins with it, it substitutes for all other symbols, and it expands into a full Wild Reel when appearing on the reels. Each new Wild Reel gets 1 Respin, and 3 Wild Reels is all you can get. As with Starburst or Fruit Zen, there isn't any free spins nor any other feature game. As for the symbols, The Milk pays 250x, the Hairbrush pays 120x, the Mouse pays 60x, the Fish pays 50x, the Ribbon pays 40x, and the Tuna and Meal Dish both paying 25x, all per line bet for getting 5 of each kind. As with all the other similar games, the paytable is a very low one, but winning with 3 Wild Reels can produce some fairly good wins from the 10 paylines and paying both ways.
Nevertheless, once bitten, twice shy, as the saying goes, so Kawaii Kitty may never get another chance from me, just as with Fruit Zen now too. BetSoft should learn from all these things. Never make a game become worse, but make it better. Then only players would play it for longer.
