I've been hunting for this Giant Riches game at several casinos but couldn't find them, until one day when I accidentally came across it at MrWin casino. I was browsing through their games list, for Microgaming games in particular, looking for my favourites Supe It Up, Beach Babes and Isis. I found Supe It Up, I found Isis, and I also found Giant Riches, so I decided to give this game a go first, to end my searching and to end my curiosity. The first impression that I got upon loading up the game was "oh gawd, not another 6 rows game!". I simply hate games that uses more than 4 rows. This Giant Riches game has 6 rows, as with a few other similar games like Cloud Quest and Viking Runecraft, but the overall look of Giant Riches wasn't impressive at all. In fact, it looks pretty messed up and not interesting at all! Sheesh!

Ah well, I've been searching for the game, so upon finding it, I just had to give it a try, like it or not. One look at the Giant Riches screen and I knew it wasn't from Microgaming. Then I saw that 2x2 signature at the top right corner, and my guess was proven correct. Upon looking at the paytable, I was really shocked to know that the game actually plays with 8 reels, but I could only see 5 reels within the play area, so where the heck are those 3 additional reels? Believe it or not, I still don't know where they are, because all my spins showed only 5 reels with 6 rows!

Giant Riches is based on Jack and the Beanstalk tale, no doubt about that, with Jack appearing more like an adult in this game. The plant, the Giant and the Castle in the clouds all remain the same. The game plays with 60 paylines, but needs only 0.40 bet per spin to start playing it. Makes no difference to me though. The logo is the Wild symbol, paying 12.5x the total bet for getting 8 of them, substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter symbol, but doesn't do anything else - a dumb symbol. The Castle is the Scatter symbol, paying 30x the total bet for getting 8 of them, triggering 50 free spins with all wins doubled. 3 Scatters would trigger only 8 free spins. More free spins can be retriggered. As for the other symbols, they pay from 12.5x to 1x total bet for getting 8 of each kind.

The paytable? Oh gees! I've never had to rate any such paytable before, never coming across any game having 8 reels and 6 rows, so it's very hard for me to give a reasonable rating. But going by the usual standards, the values look to be very low indeed, if not extremely low. The symbols on reels 1 and 2 can be stacked up to 6-symbols high, but the other reels can only have up to 3 stacked symbols, making the play area look really really messy with all those different sized symbols. Oh, how I really hate looking at them!
Needless to say, I couldn't and wouldn' ever play this Giant Riches game for more than a few minutes. In fact, I quit playing the game after just about 30 spins on it, without getting any decent wins, without getting any Free Spins game either. And I still cannot see where those 8 reels are! Simply unbelievable!

Giant Riches is a video slot game that I was keen to play. The first time I saw the game I was impressed by the huge size of the reels and I wanted to see what this game is all about. The game has somehow an unusual configuration since there are 8 reels and six rows and in total there are 60 pay lines. The first 2 reels stretch over 6 rows but the rest of the reels are only 3 rows high and they sit on top of each other. Sounds confusing at first I know but once you start playing you will get used to it.

At the beginning the unusual design made it difficult for me to see what kind of win I hit immediately after each spin but I got used to it very fast. The Giant Riches video slot game is powered with only one feature and that is the free spins. During my session I managed to activate the free spins fairly easy and not only that but I also managed to activate them many times. It is even possible to get 8 scatters in one spin so if you do that you will win an amazing 50 free spins. It all depends on the number of scatters you get here in this game. I was usually getting between 3 and 5 scatters and that was bringing me between 8 and 16 free spins. When it comes to the wins it was nothing much I must say. The first time I activated the free spins I got 20 euros and the highest amount that I have won was 90 euros. The good thing here might be that it is easy to activate the free spins here in this game so any win is a good win. And 90 euros is a good win and you cannot underestimate it, even though it is not huge.

Giant Riches is not infact a Microgaming production but is infact produced by 2x2 gaming. The confusion comes from the fact Microgaming license their Quickfire technology to several other developers to enable their games to be easily implemented into existing casino websites. Companies such as 2x2 immediately have access to a much wider market and Microgaming make a little money from the license, so both parties benefit. And I can't imagine that 2x2 having their games accidentally listed in the Microgaming section at some casinos (and here at Askgamblers) will do them any harm either!

2x2 have been around for a while but have yet to produce a game that has really captured my imagination, so I was keen to see what they had come up with this time. The huge size of the reels in Giant Riches grab your attention immediately and when you press spin for the first time you can see that there's even more going on than an unusual 5 by 6 symbol grid - the last three reels are actually split into two sections for a total of eight seperate reels.

I couldn't really see any advantage from this layout to begin with, and the 60 paylines are arranged in unusual patterns to accomodate the strange design which makes it harder than usual to see how good a win you might of hit immediately after each spin. I got used to it quite quickly though and you could always take a look at the paytable to get an idea of where the lines are if you wanted to as well, but I think there's far too many to try and remember them myself!

An advantage did reveal itself within my first fifty spins or so, and that is the fact it is possible to hit up to eight scatter symbols on a single spin which the game rewards with up to a maximum of 50 free spins with a 2x multiplier and there's a hefty payoff for wins featuring 6 scatters or more. Often games with more than 5 unique reels will require you to hit more than three scatters to trigger the bonus but in Giant Riches you'll still receive 8 free spins for this.

All of the games highest paying symbols are stacked on all reels and it quickly becomes obvious this is a very high variance game. The eight reel layout increases the odds of hitting a full screen of matching symbols, but the game rewards such rare hits accordingly and I found the game got very addictive very quickly! This is definitely my sort of game and proves that 2x2 are a name to watch right now.

Giant Riches, one of the latest additions from Microgaming, in co-operation with 2by2 Gaming. What I didn't know is that this game has been across land-based casinos one year now. How could we know when we gamble online. I liked this slot from the first sight of it, but for sure, I wouldn't be able to play long sessions on it. The reason why I say this is my eyes start hurting from all the reels and symbols popping out all over around the play area on the screen.

The slot has a very well known theme, a fairytale, of Jack and the Beanstalk, with golden eggs, magic beans and the theft itself. This is a 8-reels 6-rows 60-paylines game and you can imagine the number of icons appearing on the screen. There are stacked symbols too. The logo Giant Riches acts like a Wild symbol and substitutes for all except the Giant's Castle Scatter symbol, which triggers the Bonus feature. Now we can choose which of the two versions of the same game we like better, NetEnt's Jack and the Beanstalk or Microgaming's Giant Riches. I like NetEnt's better.

3 or more Giant's Castle Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels award from 8 up to 50 free spins with all wins doubled. The Free Spins game can be retriggered. There is also a 'Mystery' feature during the Free Spins game. Bear in mind that each reel contains mystery positions that are replaced with other symbols, including Wilds, before each spin. When the reels stop, the symbols are replaced and it increases chances for even more winning combinations. Only the Wild, Coins, Goose and the Harp symbols can be replaced within the mystery positions.
