The graphics in the game are pretty nice but not outstanding, and all the symbols in the game are taken from the Chinese zodiac animals. Not surprising of course, since the Chinese New Year is based on Chinese Astrology. The Tiger, the Wild symbol, pays a nice 5000x the line bet for getting 5 of them, but the Bonus symbol, the Dragon, doesn't pay anything at all, except to trigger off a Bonus game. The Monkey is the Scatter symbol, also a non-paying symbol, that serves to trigger off the Free Spins game. The other symbols pay from 1000x the line bet (Rat) down to 100x the line bet (Pig) for getting 5 of each kind. Not really a good paytable, just an average one.
To start off the Free Spins game, a wheel is spun to determine how many free spins you can get, and also to determine which one of the animal symbols would become the Extra Scatter. This symbol will pay as scatters and not as payline winning symbol, which improves the overall payout potential of the game. Sadly though, more free spins cannot be won and the Free Spins game cannot be retriggered either. What a waste! I've never liked any game that doesn't offer retriggers, simply because there wouldn't be any further chances of getting better wins. What that Free Spins game pays is all you can get, and that usually sucks!
In the Bonus game, there are 5 fireworks symbols which you need to pick one at a time to win instant cash prizes. Get a firework that doesn't work and that's the end of the Bonus game. This can end on the second pick, but it usually ends on the third pick. If you're real lucky, you may get to pick all 5 of them for the best win of up to 150x the total bet amount. For a Bonus game, that's a nice good win potential. Most other Bonus games wouldn't pay more than 50x the total bet amount.
