While Anjouan is not the strongest regulatory body in the gambling industry, meaning processes like dispute resolution might take longer to conclude, Crowngreen is completely safe to play at.

Payment Information and Options at Crowngreen Casino

While the casino’s homepage has a banner displaying which payment providers are accepted, I had to log into my account to see the individual transaction limits. What’s more, many of the methods weren’t available in my jurisdiction. 

For a modern casino, Crowngreen’s banking options are extremely limited. There are only six methods available for deposits and three for withdrawals, but I was particularly disappointed by the fact that there were no cryptocurrencies. 

A small consolation is that aside from euros, Crowngreen accepts some other major currencies like US dollars and Canadian dollars. That said, if you make a payment in a different currency to the one your account is set to, you will have to pay any accrued conversion costs.

In general though, there are no fees for making payments. 

All deposits start from €20. You can deposit up to €1,000 at a time using Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay or €1,500 using Revolut and bank transfer. 

Any deposit, even if it hasn’t been used to claim a bonus, must be wagered at least three times for the relevant funds to be withdrawn, and if the deposit was used to play live dealer games, the wagering jumps to 10 times. 

The €60 minimum withdrawal amount is one of the highest I’ve encountered; it’s three times the industry standard and applies to every method. To top it off, debit card and bank transfer withdrawals are capped at just €1,000, and SEPA bank transfer cash-outs have a €2,000 maximum.

Fortunately, the additional €10,000 daily, €20,000 weekly and €50,000 monthly limits are higher than what the majority of online casinos allow. Plus, exceptions are sometimes made for high-level VIP players.

Players should bear in mind that they must wait for their initial withdrawal request to be approved before they can file another. 

As mentioned earlier in the review, you won’t have to wait long as most withdrawal requests made by verified account holders are processed in less than an hour. I found this to be accurate as my Mastercard payment arrived in approximately one hour and 10 minutes.

However, not all transactions are this speedy, and Crowngreen warns that funds could take up to five banking days to arrive, especially during public holidays or when additional verification is required.

Standard KYC verification is straightforward and is usually approved within 48 hours, excluding weekends. 

To complete verification, log in and head to the security section of your profile to submit the necessary documents. The maximum file size is 5MB and accepted file formats include PNG, JPG, JPEG, HEIC and PDF.

As proof of identity, you should upload a selfie holding a passport, national ID card or driver's licence near your face. Screenshots and scans will be rejected.

Under the payment section, you can submit a photo of the front of your card displaying the first six and last four digits of the card number (cover the rest), cardholder name and expiry date. For online banking, you can attach a screenshot of your online bank or bank statement.

Last but not least, to confirm your address you can send in a photo of a utility bill, phone bill or bank statement as long as it was issued within the last 90 days and shows your full name and address. Keep in mind that if you used a bank statement to prove your ownership of a payment method, you must use a different document to confirm your address. 

An account will be considered dormant if it has had zero activity for 12 consecutive months. The site will attempt to contact the player via the most recent contact information on file, but unless the player logs in and plays, they will be charged a monthly €5 fee until any remaining positive balance is depleted.

If an account is dormant for 36 months or longer Crowngreen may close it permanently.

Crowngreen offers two main support channels: a 24/7 live chat and an email address at [email protected]. With telephone support being rather outdated, these two means of communication are fairly standard for the industry, and the agents generally proved themselves to be well-trained. 

In addition to being open round the clock, staff monitoring the live chat have access to translation technology which allows them to provide assistance in the language that best suits the player, including Spanish and French.

You don’t need an account to use the chat, but you will have to enter your name, email and query before you can be connected.

The only thing I didn’t like is that the initial greeting comes from an AI bot. However, since players get immediate access to a textbox, it’s quick and easy to request to speak to a real agent. Every time I tried this myself, I was transferred instantly.

My first conversation was with Dexter, whom I consulted about the chat’s operating hours and supported languages. As this was a simple query relating directly to Dexter’s responsibilities, I expected a fast reply, and they did not let me down.

After answering, Dexter double-checked whether I wanted to switch to a different language and made sure I didn’t need any further help before disconnecting. The whole conversation was polite and finished in two minutes.

On a separate occasion, I spoke to Leya, whom I asked more complex questions regarding currencies and the withdrawal process. 

Though I had to wait approximately five minutes for a reply this time, Leya delivered the answers, citing exactly where the regulations could be found in Crowngreen’s Terms and Conditions.

I found this incredibly reassuring, as it showed the agents know how to back up their knowledge.

Thanks to an intuitive interface and ample categories, manoeuvring this large library is not a challenge. Players can filter by providers or genres like instant win, Megaways, new and jackpot.

There are even categories such as best to start, which is helpful for less experienced players, and bonus friendly, which players interested in using bonuses will find useful. 

However, one major improvement would be adding a demo mode to allow players to familiarise themselves with new titles without eating through their budgets. 

Live casino enthusiasts will find an extensive assortment of options divided by type: blackjack, roulette, poker and baccarat. Although I wish game shows also had their own category, finding them through the search bar is painless.

My testing included multiple games like Valkyries from Peter & Sons, Book of Panda Megaways by BGaming and the fast-paced Chicken Road 2 from InOut. I’m pleased to report that I didn’t notice any lagging, glitches or low-quality graphics. 

Crowngreen works equally well as a mobile casino. Whether you choose to play via your browser or download the progressive web app (PWA), the game playthrough and loading speed stay smooth and consistent. While there is no native app, the PWA works just as well. 

While it's unfortunate that Crowngreen doesn’t conduct its own RTP or RNG testing, it sources games from trusted suppliers, all of which have certificates to prove their fairness. 

These titles are housed on the casino’s site but are run by the providers. Crowngreen cannot alter the game settings, so all outcomes are unbiased.  

Crowngreen Casino’s Commitment to Responsible Gambling

The responsible gambling page at Crowngreen is packed with genuinely helpful advice and links to respected support organisations like Gamblers Anonymous, Gambling Therapy and GamCare, which can support struggling players beyond the site.

I liked that these links weren’t just hidden away on the responsible gambling page, but were always easily accessible from the footer.

Nonetheless, it’s a shame that Crowngreen only has two internal tools to help players avoid or control irresponsible gaming habits: deposit limits and self-exclusion.

In order to apply either tool, players must email [email protected], which is not ideal. When I personally tested how efficient emailing is, it took the casino four hours to reply. 

Since I purposely missed out certain details, the casino’s first response informed me that further information was required and warned that the limit couldn’t be lower than the site’s minimum deposit amount of €20.

I responded immediately that I wanted to apply a €150 daily deposit limit and was happy to receive a response only an hour later this time, confirming that the limit had been applied.

Although five hours is not a terrible timeframe, giving players the option to apply these tools themselves through their account settings would streamline and improve the process.
