If you're a Microgaming fan and you haven't played this Mad Hatters game before, then you must be kidding me. I'm not a fan, but I've played this game numerous of times, and a lot more times in the freeroll tournaments too. Back in those days, this game, along with games like Loaded and Ladies Nite, are frequently featured in the tournaments. Not so much nowadays, with newer games already taking over its place. High variance players would love this game, as it has potentials for huge wins, but I ain't one of them.

This game may be based on Alice in Wonderland, but Alice herself is missing. Hmm, maybe Alice was still at her home, not yet entered the Wonderland world, but never mind. Luckily too, this game isn't entitled Lucky Mad Hatters, or Cashalot Hatters, or even Wonderland Star, as a lot of the games tend to be entitled. Anyway, the Red Hat is the Wild symbol, 5 of which pays an incredible 20,000x the line bet, if you are damn lucky enough to get them. I couldn't even get 3 of them on any payline. If it appears anywhere on reel 3, it expands into a Wild Reel and awards 1 Respin. Other than that, it only does substitution of symbols, except for the Rabbit Scatter and the Cuckoo Clock Bonus symbols.

Well, playing a high variance game has its pros and cons. I like freespins feature. It has decent potential, but it looks like that it pay on very rare occasions. Freespins feature is triggered when 3 or more scattered hats appear anywhere on reels. Initial award for 3 scatters it is 10 freespins, but for 5 scatters you got 50 freespins. On next screen you could pick extra wild from one of the highest paying symbols. I never picked right one, always other appear much more often. And also during freespins all wins doubled.

I like expanded wilds on middle reel. It is looks like just regular wild, but if it lands on reel 3 this reel will expand. And overall I am happy with wilds in this game, there is 30 paylines, and 5 wilds pay huge, so lot of chances to score hit, but you need to play this game a lot.

I like bonus feature. It is triggered when special bonus symbols appear from left to right or right to left in right order. You just pick it and got prizes. Prize not big, but it is possible to get at least 30 bets, I had this win.

During normal play I do not have wins more than 50 bets, but it is obvious that game could pay such wins even higher. Freespins feature always was bad for me, never won more than 50 bets. But I played it not much times. I rate this game with 7 stars.

There is couple of features in this slot. Expanded wild on reel 3, I like this feature, it is interesting one and can give more wins specially during FS. Also pick clackoo bonus, but there is usually low prizes, but when there is big prize I am always pick incorrect and this always make me angry. And freespins feature at which you can pick extra wild. Funny, any wild I choose - this is bad choice. There is appear a lot of other symbols, but not my picked wild. Probably this is how this game works and this is how the things should be, but not very pleasure for me.
