Genie's Gems pays both ways, left-to-right and right-to-left, so the actual 5-paylines play and pay like a 10-paylines game. The good looking Genie is the Wild symbol, paying a wonderful 10,000x for 5 of him, but that is about it. The Wild symbol doesn't pay for itself, it doesn't double any wins with it, neither does it expand, move, shift or become stacked. A true blue dumb Wild symbol. The Scatter symbol...what the heck...there isn't any! So there can be no Scatters wins, no Free Spins games and no other features to award either. Can all these be any good at all? Hmm, I really wonder. The symbols in the game comprises of a Diamond, paying 5000x the line bet for 5 of them, a Lamp, paying 2500x, a Carpet, paying 1500x, a Minaret, paying 1000x, and lower symbols paying from 500x to 100x the line bet for 5 of each kind. Frankly speaking, this paytable is a good one, although the maximum possible single win lies in getting 5 of the Genie on any payline, for a huge 2000x total bet win. Not many games can pay this high, that much I can tell you.
Well, sometimes a good paytable doesn't do what it is supposed to do - it doesn't deliver good payouts. At other times, a poor paytable can be just as good, giving good decent payouts at the right times. Maybe it just wasn't my lucky day that day, as it always has been whenever it's a Microgaming game that I play. The good wins from Genie's Gems didn't come my way, the symbols fell all over the place and out of any winning way. A small win here, a small there, was all I could bear. After losing one deposit in one game, I was soon out of there.
