Diamond Dreams is a stylish classic machine as it tries to symbolize the land-based big brother and normally I don’t really like this kind of illustrating form because most of the times I have some concerns with the appearance and the reduced visible area on the screen but luckily at this slot it’s not a problem at all. The design and the arrangement of the pictorial elements are cleverly made and there’s really nothing to bother the eye, the reel area is well visible, the paytable are clearly readable and I even like the purple colour domination on the screen while we play the very uncommon diamond, bar, cherry, 7 and bell symbols which all have solid graphics. Maybe the background sound and winning indicator noise should be a little bit more modern but it’s not a real shortcoming and overall I think this is a very decent exterior for a traditional slot machine.
When I step further and arrive to the game segment and its working scheme my opinion about the slot can’t be such positive as I have some issues with it. This is a 3-reel, 5-payline slot where we can vary our bets between €0.02-€5 depending on what is the coin denomination and how many lines we like to bet on. The Jackpot of the game if 1000 coins if all paylines were in use at the triggering spin (if not, the grand prize is just 750 coins) and the slot also works with Wild which is the same Diamond icon as can provide us the big win.
All of the mentioned features and qualities are average and there would be nothing problem with them if the slot would work in better way. I miss here some things which a little bit ruin my gameplays and even if I have spent some time with Diamond Dreams but I still don’t feel myself too comfortable at this game. My issues are starting with the fact the slot doesn’t offer the possibility to its less paying symbol to pay or at least return the line stake if just one single icon appear anywhere on that payline, I also don’t like that the single, double and triple bar symbols can’t pay any back if they appear on the reels in mixed format and I think this is the most annoying me becase every time when I see a payline full of Bars I always think that’s a winning combination but it would be if 3 Bars from the same kind would have popped up on the payline. The Diamond, Wild appears on the screen in just rare times and as I see it, it should be a more active symbol.
Of course, to have a chance for Jackpot I play the game with 5 paylines but I tried it with just a traditional way, with 1 and 3 lines and the average results were the same every time which is not a good thing for me as I believe it is not a good paying product. There are really long streaks when the wins just aren’t coming and even if every player who loves and plays with classic machine knows this tendency is part of the business but there’s always a limit until we can and will to tolerate it and when a game, in this case Diamond Dreams, crosses it so it’s never a good sign and the faith in the game is just getting to fade away. That’s how I feel about this machine and maybe just my cold run and unlucky sessions are the reason but I can’t considerate this product as real good, entertaining and more importantly a rewarding slot. I think I just expected too much from this slot that never realized but from my part I think I will chase my luck at other classic slot in the future.
