Bush Telegraph is a 15-payline video slot running on the Microgaming software platform. The Wild Bush is the game’s wild card and the scatter is the Seedpod symbol. Players are invited to test the slot on this page for free or play the game for real money in any of the Microgaming casinos located in the listings.
In order to spin the reels filled with colourful bush babies and other jungle animals, players should set their bet first. “Select Lines” alters the number of active paylines and “Select Coins” chooses the number of coins wagered. Clicking +/- modifies the coin size ranging from 0.01 to 1. “Spin” turns the reels and “Bet Max” spins them at the highest bet. To play the game multiple times uninterrupted, players should click “Expert” and then “Auto Play”.
Players can click “Gamble” after any win to increase their winnings. If they guess the colour of the face-down card correctly, their amount is doubled. Guessing wrong, however, ends the feature. Players can leave the round of their own accord and save their winnings by clicking “Collect”.
3 or more Seedpod scatters will trigger the Free Spin round, wherein players are awarded 10 Free Spins. All regular wins are tripled during the Free Spin feature. The Free Spin round can be re-activated.
The Bongo Bonus game will start when 3 or more Bongo Bonus symbols emerge on the reels. Players can win up to 2,500 coins in this round. They choose among 12 Bongo Drums to uncover their bonus win amount. If 3 symbols activated the game, players can choose 3 times. If 4 symbols lead to the bonus game, players can select 4 drums. If 5 symbols initiated the game, players can pick 5 drums. Players win the total of all the bonus win amounts revealed.

In a concrete jungle, you could hear loud noises of vehicles, horns, screeches and even some occasional mad shouts. In a greeny jungle, you could hear songs of birds and insects, perhaps with an occasional lion's roar right behind you, making you run and hop like a monkey with its tail on fire. But once in awhile, you could hear rhythmic beats coming from some distant drums. Bongo drums? Hmm, probably not, unless you're in a disco. But these are the sounds that make up what is called the 'bush telegraph', of sending messages via rhythmic drum beats, from one jungle tribe to another jungle tribe, or in this case, from birds to wild boars. Birds can beat drums? Hmm, whatever, hehehe.
See that reddish seedpod there? Huh, not there is it? Hmm, never mind. That's the Scatter symbol. Eat that and you'll be scattering to the nearest hospital! Hahaha. 5 of them pays a nice 400x the total bet, and any 3, 4 or 5 of them award 10 free spins with a 3x win multiplier. Yep, more free spins can be retriggered, if you can get them. The Wild symbol, also not shown up there, pays a nice 7500x the line bet for 5 of them on a payline, but other than that, it is a dumb Wild! No paying for itself, no doubling of wins, no expanding, no stacking, no shifting, no nothing. Yes, clever you, except for substituting. The animals pay from 500x down to 250x the line bet, the others paying 125x down to 75x the line bet. Very good for the Wild and Scatter symbols, very low for the others. Why can't these game designers ever get these things right? Hmm, yes, of course, they want more wins, right!
Before I forget, there is also a Bongo Bonus feature game, by getting 3 or more Bongo Bonus symbols consecutively on any payline. Anywhere won't do. They won't make any sound if they don't connect! Hehehe. In this game, you have 12 drums to pick from, not to form your own drum band, but to win cash prizes. Nope, you cannot pick all of them. You can only pick 3. Stingy hah? Yeah! Should have made it pick 6 out of the 12, that would have been more reasonable. Otherwise, just pick 3 out of 5 or 6, not out of 12. Sheesh!
Not sure if this Bush Telegraph is an old game or not, I'm not a Microgaming fan, if you know not, but I quite like the graphics in the game. Could have been much better, but I didn't design this game. Playing it was quite fun too, I must admit. Got quite a number of those Bongo Bonus games, but I always seem to pick the wrong bongos. The best I won was not even 20x my bet. The Free Spins games did better, paying me up to 60x my bet, the best so far that I've got, but with good chances of getting much more then that. For instance, 5 Wilds on a payline in a free spins game would pay 22,500x the line bet! Woohoo! Well, if you can get it of course.
The funny thing is, I didn't win anything from this game, but I know that the Free Spins game can bring in some wonderful big wins, at the right time. For me, it was the wrong time.
