Big Top is a circus-themed 9-payline video slot which operates on the Microgaming software platform. The game’s wild card is the Wild Clown symbol, which only appears on reels 2, 3 and 4. The game’s scatter is the Scatter Monkey symbol. Players are invited to test the slot on this page free of charge or visit any of the listed Microgaming to play the game for real money.
In order to spin the colourful reels, players need to adjust their wager first. “Select Lines” chooses the number of paylines played and -/+ fixes the coin size, ranging from 0.01 up to 100. “Spin” initiates the game and “Bet Max” spins the reels at the maximum bet. Pressing “Expert” and then “Autoplay” will turn the reels a number of times without any interruption.
A jackpot of 5,000 coins will be awarded when 5 Big Top Logo symbols emerge on an activated payline.

Big Top has a circus theme, with clowns, monkey, elephants and seals doing their tricks. Microgaming, on the other hand, is playing dirty tricks on us players! Why? Because you have to play the game with a minimum bet of $2.25 per spin! What the aargh is all this? Is Big Top meant only for Big Shots to play, and never meant for us scavenging workers? What a lousy deal indeed!
This old game plays with just 9 paylines, but each line costs $0.25 per spin, absurdly way too high for most players. But for those who can afford a starting bankroll of a few hundreds, this game can be quite profitable! The Wild symbol is a dumb symbol. No pay, no nothing, just to substitute. The Monkey is the Scatter symbol, paying 50x the total bet for 5 of them. The Logo 'Big Top' is the highest paying symbol at 5000x the line bet for 5 of them, with the rest paying from 600x down to 100x the line bet. Not so bad actually, except for the non-paying Wild and the low-paying Scatter symbols.
For a circus themed game, expect to be entertained by the clowns and the animals only. There aren't any Free Spins game. There aren't any Bonus game. There aren't any randomly activated feature game either. So, laugh with the clown, or cry with the baby! You either make it good and enjoy the show, or go back home barefooted, so to speak, hehehe.
For such an expensive game to play, I have played this Big Top game only once using my deposited money, but played it many times with the casino's fun money. I ain't gonna let no monkey steal my wallet whilst I'm happily laughing away at the clowns! Nosirree! So, how was it? The game, or the monkey? The game wasn't any good, but wasn't too bad either. My small balance kept going up and down a few times. The monkey, that rascal little monkey, it scattered away with my deposited money, but luckily not with my wallet! Yep, I chained my wallet to my belt! Hahaha.
Personally, I think Microgaming made a gross mistake by starting with such a high minimum bet per spin. This game could have been more fun and popular playing with the usual small minimum bets, because the chances of making mediocre profits are quite good. I wouldn't dare say big profits, because the Wilds are literally too dumb to assist!
