A slot from GameArt and it has royal gems retro theme, with 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 fixed pay lines. The min bet is as low as 0.10 per spin but depending on casino and what currency you play with it can be as low as 0.20 per spin.

The slot is another one of those that has no bonus free spins feature and thus it is lacking that ingredient that I require to chase a feature and thus only thing you have here for fun is to play the base and gamble the wins with a gamble feature. So during my session I was just trying to get as many base wins as possible with the best one being the 21x bet and that was far off from the 500x that you can get on the top symbol but shows it has some potential.

The graphics being a game about gems are shiny symbols as one would expect consider the theme and that goes for all the symbols, from the gems to the ring and a diamond star. The seven symbol is a beautiful shiny gold and that is my favorite here.

The music here is non existent if you talk about background music but if you spin the reels then you will get some tune playing for the duration of the spin and any time there is a win on some payline. I like the sound effects of the reels stopping because it reminds of other slot providers that I used to play and I do think that sound effects can be shared between slot providers.

There is the usual gamble feature which makes the slot more fun especially because it is missing the free spins or respins feature so you still get to have a bit of extra guessing game every time you get a win, this option can be turned on or off if you don’t want to bother with being stopped by the gamble feature after each win.

I played on the max RTP 96.02% version which gave me the best shot at having a profitable session on it and overall it wasn’t too bad as I was getting some base wins along the way.

There are no options to do any of the bonus buys or ante bets because the slot is lacking a free spins bonus feature and the max win cap with the slot is only 2500x that is if you were to get a full screen of top symbol. I do like slots that have higher max win cap potential but some slot providers tend to keep the win caps lower and this is the case with this slot.

One thing that I like about GameArt is that most of their games have excellent graphics and are usually very well presented, although that’s about all that one can expect. Why? Simply because very nice-looking games do not make hit games with punters, especially when the paytables aren’t good enough to create big wins, or that the huge wins are simply almost impossible to be achieved. However, this tend to be the current trend with game providers, if not all of them, so we punters just have to grind our teeth and accept them, or just don’t play such games at all, hehehe.

This Royal Gems is a straightforward game, with no special features, no free spins and no multipliers even, so what that means is that it’s really a no-frills game. Nonetheless, there are still many old-school punters who like playing such simple games, so if you’re not one of them, then this Royal Gems would quickly bore you! Yeah, no frills, no thrills, hehehe.

Okay, but is there anything good about the game? Oh yes, there are indeed! For one thing, getting 5 of the Crown symbols would pay a nice 500x the total bet amount, so that should satisfy many punters, but all the other symbols would pay from 50x downwards, so these smaller wins might disappoint a bit. Two more good things are that the game plays with only 0.10 starting bets, which I do like, but playing with only 10 paylines of course, and the game also features Adjacent Pays, whereby any 3 same horizontally connected symbols anywhere on the reels make a win. Unfortunately, diagonally or vertically connected same symbols do not - would have been much better if they do though, creating many more winning chances.

Well, after playing Royal Gems on two separate occasions (a short session each time, for obvious reasons), all I could get was a rather miserable 63x win. Bigger wins are possible of course, but would certainly need many more hundreds or thousands of spins, of which I simply cannot afford to do or give. Why? Oh gees – I got bored with this game rather quickly! Hahaha.
