When I first looked at this Monster Wheels game, I couldn't believe that it was from Microgaming, thinking perhaps it was from another game provider instead, which I cannot know for sure anyway. Usually, such games with a 'squeezed' or 'bulging' look, would either come from NetEnt or Quickspin, but it doesn't really matter anyhow. Whether it is 'squeezed' or 'bulging' just waiting to burst, I have never been fond of such formats, so Monster Wheels cannot ever be amongst my favourite games.
For a starting bet of $0.30, you can choose to play with 128 or 288 ways to win. Obviously, each format has certain advantages and disadvantages over the other, so I needed to try out each format to find out which is the better one. Honestly speaking, after several plays on this game, I am still unsure! But it does seemed that the 288 ways could trigger the Free Spins games slightly easier than the 128 ways, due to the Scatter symbols appearing only on reels 1, 3 and 5. The 128 ways format only allows for 2 positions on reels 1, 3 and 5 for the Scatter symbol to appear, as opposed to 3 positions on the 288 ways format, but as I have said, this may only be 'seeming', as I couldn't be certain of any of it.
Other than that, the paytable is a very good one indeed, with a maximum possible win of 7666x the total bet, if played with the maximum bet of $15 per spin. That's way out of my league anyway, but it is nice to know that even at the minimum bet of just $0.30, a maximum win of just over 7000x total bet is still possible! How to get this? Hehehe. Without any doubt, you need to play this game on your luckiest day, you need to choose that 3 free spins with a 8x multiplier, with get a few retriggers as well! Well, that would just like striking a lottery I would say, hahaha.
Anyway, before you run to play this game, let me remind you that both the Wild and the Scatter symbols are non-paying, and the Wild symbol can only appear on reel 3. However, the top 6 symbols all pay the same 20x total bet win for any 5 of them, but the lower symbols pay only 5x and 3.3x the total bet. Doesn't look so good, does it? This actually makes me wonder if that 7000x win is possible at all or not! If there's anything to go by, my several plays on this game all ended up miserably! My best win came in the base game, and none of the Free Spins games could produce any win of 50x total bet or more!
If you ask me, no thanks, I would rather skip playing this game ever again, simply because I couldn't even get a 50x win so far, and I would rather try my luck on some other better game! So why give Monster Wheels a 5-Star rating? Simply for that 7000x total bet win possibility! True or not, maybe someone else can determine that. I simply couldn't!
