Holland Power Gaming, or HPG in short, isn't so well known as many other software providers, but their games are rather unique, in the sense that they don't follow the current trend of cloning games, except for one game, Fruitman, which plays like Starburst, but uses fruits instead of stars, more like Fruit Zen. Most of the other HPG games have no similarities with any other provider games, but a few games do share some similar basic design principles.

Real Ghost is one such example. The game is based on special scatters that would expand to fill the entire reel or reels, very much like what 'The Book of Ra' does. Coming from the same region in Europe, it isn't really surprising that HPG and Novomatic games do share some similarities between them. What I like most about Real Ghost is the minimum bet size of just 0.10Euro to start playing the game, so anyone can play it with just a small starting bankroll. But of course, if big wins are what you are after, then the starting bankroll needs to be bigger to be able to play with much bigger bet sizes per spin.

For me, every time I login to play Real Ghost, I would usually start off with at least a 50Euros deposit, but occasionally, I may even start off with 100Euros. This is a high variance game, very similar to 'The Book of Ra', so there will be plenty of non-paying and low-paying spins. The hooded skeleton man is the Scatter and the Wild symbol at the same time, and getting 3 of them anywhere on the reels would activate 10 free spins with a random special scattering symbol. Freddie is the highest paying symbol of the lot, I haven't managed to get all of him yet so far, but I have gotten all of the bald man only once before.

The 10 free spins feature game doesn't come often and usually would require lots of patience playing the game! 2 scatters can come quite often at certain times, but it doesn't always result with a free spins game. Can be very frustrating when it doesn't happen, but that's how high variance game goes. Retriggers are rare too, once being the most usual, but on very good days, retriggers can occur up to 4 or 5 times within one feature game, and usually pays out handsomely!

Real Ghost is probably the best game to play amongst all HPG games, even though a few other games could give more retriggers, but have rarely given out bigger payouts than what Real Ghost could.

I guess the only dislike in playing this game is in the waiting for a free spins game to come! There have been many attempts with 50Euros deposits that didn't see any single feature game, making you wonder if one would be coming at all or not, but it does, sooner or later. On a few occasions, you'd get one when you least expected it! Real Ghost can be thrilling yet excruciating! Hehehe.
