Flutter rounded off the month of October on a rather successful note, with its leading brands – Sky Betting & Gaming, Paddy Power and Betfair – having been awarded the Advanced Safer Gambling Standard by GamCare.
According to GamCare, the brands were recognised for their progressive approach and continuous focus on safer gambling.
Top-Level Standard for Top-Level Brands
Just as October was coming to an end, with its celebration of Safer Gambling Week in the UK and Ireland, Flutter's flagship brands received Gold Advanced Level 3, the top certification in the field, from GamCare.
The certification means that Flutter's three largest online-focused brands within its UK and Ireland division officially provide the highest levels of customer protection according to GamCare's standards.
Luke Sugden, Director of Risk and Safer Gambling, Flutter UK and Ireland, described the development as "a hugely proud moment for everyone at Flutter."
Sky Betting & Gaming, Paddy Power and Betfair now boast GamCare's top certification in the field of safer gambling.
"This certification [...] is a credit to our fantastic colleagues, who continue to put safer gambling at the heart of everything we do as a business," Sugden underlined.
Leader in Safer Gambling
Since its last assessment in 2020, Flutter has made several notable improvements to its safer gambling strategy and approach in the UK and Ireland.
These include the integration of safer gambling KPIs into objectives and remuneration, improved compliance and assurance processes, and further investment in the size and expertise of its safer gambling team.
Also, Flutters' UK and Ireland-facing brands were the first in the industry to introduce mandatory deposit limits for customers under 25, a £10 limit on slot products, and our pioneering Affordability Triple Step approach that enhances existing customer protection.
Following a comprehensive review that involved several teams across the division, assessors from GamCare praised Flutter for fostering a positive culture regarding safer gambling within the said brands, as well as integrating its processes across internal systems such as e-learning, employee communications, and support services.
