Summary
Vault of Anubis is a beautifully designed slot with real attention to detail. Great design perfectly fits with the theme and the features. Overall, it’s a highly volatile game with maximum potential of x5000 your bet that definitely deserves a few spins if you like Egyptian-themed games, and even if you don’t.
This Vault Of Anubis is not a Megaways game but a cluster-pays kind of game, needing any connected 5 symbols or more to make a win. I definitely prefer this kind of game over Megaways, but even so, not one of such cluster-pays games have never made it into my favourites list. My top preference is still the standard 5-reels with just 3 or 4-rows of symbols, but must have an interesting free spins feature game that can retrigger many times over and with a decent multiplier. Old fashioned perhaps but I’m an old-school player, hahaha.
Most games would use 6 reels and 7 rows, but Vault Of Anubis plays with 7 reels and 6 rows instead. Don’t ask me why, I wouldn’t know the reason for that, and I really don’t care either. Activating a free spins feature game requires getting 4 or more Free Spins Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels, but waiting for this to happen can be very tedious indeed. Those one or two appearing Scatter symbols can be quite distressing at times, knowing that 2 more such symbols would hardly appear at all. Yeah, it generally takes well over 500 spins to get one of these free spins game and that’s not to my liking at all.
As in all games that use more reels and rows, a number of the symbols in play would appear in bigger sizes of 2x2 or 3x3. This is okay in a cluster-pays game, but in a Megaways game, each big symbol would greatly reduce the possible winning lines, and greatly reduce the size of the wins too. The win values in this Vault Of Anubis game aren’t good by any standards, but are not as extremely low as in Megaways games. The maximum possible win is over 5000x, but you really need to get those big multipliers to boost up all the wins. Otherwise, the wins would be much smaller, with hardly any win ever crossing the 500x win mark.
I have played this game a few times before some time back, but each play session ended up in a loss, without even getting a decent 30x win from any of them. Yes, it can be a very disappointing game most of the time, and I really think that only the few lucky ones could actually benefit from this game, very much in the same ways as in Megaways games. My best win so far? A measly 50x! And after getting that win very recently, I certainly would not play this game ever again!
