The highlight is the Money Cart Bonus where 20 different modifiers can combine to spectacular effect. The Money Train 4 max win comes in at an eye-watering 150,000 x bet! Find out just how good this game is and how it compares to the competition in our detailed Money Train 4 review.
Money Train 4 Details, RTP, Payout and Volatility
Money Train 4 is played on a 6x6 game grid. To create a winning combination, land 8 or more of the same symbol anywhere on the reels on the same spin. They don’t have to be in a payline or on adjacent reels, anywhere will do. The more matching symbols, the bigger the payout.
You can join this band of brigands at bet levels of between $/£/€ 0.10 and $/£/€ 6 per spin. Use the + and – button next to the Bet button below the reels to adjust your stake size. If you’re playing on a tablet or smartphone, click on the coins icon to set your bet size.
Players outside the UK will have the chance to set autoplay and with it up to 1,000 auto spins. There’s also a turbo mode in some jurisdictions. You can also set the game so you start each spin by clicking on the spacebar.
The RTP of 96.10% is a click above average. Some versions will have a 94.10% RTP. Players in Germany will also find one with a 90% RTP. As always, try and find the version with the highest return to player rate at casino sites. A quick look in the paytable should reveal the version you’re playing. The hit rate is 20.14%. On average, a winning combination will land once every five spins or so.
One of the main attractions in Money Train 4 is the enormous maximum win of 150,000 x bet. As you might expect given such a large top prize, the Money Train 4 volatility is extremely high.
Money Train 4 Theme, Audio and Symbols
Set against a rocky desert backdrop, the reels are set within a futuristic looking train that is overloaded with weaponry. It’s the wild frontier with a futuristic almost steampunk feel. Trigger the bonus round and you’ll head to a nighttime scene. Very impressive it all is too. Relax Gaming has put plenty of effort into the design of Money Train.
All 36 symbols on the game grid spin individually. That’s quite a lot of moving parts. The crisp visuals are up to the job though, and everything is nice and easy to make out, even if you’re playing the Money Train 4 mobile slot.
The soaring orchestral soundtrack could come straight out of a Hollywood action movie. This a slot that’s absolutely brimming with atmosphere.
Joining the colourful diamond, club, spade and heart symbols are the 4 high-paying bandits as well as a bonus symbol. Here’s what each of them deliver in terms of payouts.
- Diamond: 10-36 pays 0.4 to 100 x bet
- Club: 10-36 pays 0.4 to 100 x bet
- Spade: 10-36 pays 0.5 to 125 x bet
- Heart: 10-36 pays 0.5 to 125 x bet
- Payer: 10-36 pays 1 to 250 x bet
- Sniper: 10-36 pays 1.2 to 400 x bet
- Collector: 8-36 pays 1 to 500 x bet
- Necromancer: 8-36 pays 1.2 to 1,000 x bet
- Bonus Scatter: 3+ triggers Money Cart Bonus feature
Money Train 4 Mobile
This heist has been fully optimised for play on smartphones and tablets as well as desktop and laptop computers. You can play the Money Train 4 mobile slot on most Android and iOS handsets. There are plenty of moving parts here, but the gameplay is nice and smooth, even if you’re using a device with a small screen. However, you will appreciate the visuals more on a larger screen in my opinion. You’ll find the slot at a whole host of mobile casinos.
H2: Money Train 4 Bonus Features
There are two main features in Money Heist. That really doesn’t do justice the potential variety of extras on offer though. Trigger the Money Cart Bonus and there’s a huge range of potential modifiers that can really pep up the action. We’ll start though, by looking at the Re-Spin Feature.
Re-Spin Feature
This streak re-spin bonus can trigger at random following any base game spin. All examples of the symbol which has appeared the most often on that preceding spin are held. A re-spin is then made. If a new matching symbol lands, it too is held.
Also in play here are multiplier symbols which are also held and add another re-spin. The re-spins keep on coming until there’s one where no new matching symbol or multiplier hit. A final payout calculation is made, with the total amount boosted by the multiplier. If you’re lucky enough to land more than one multiplier during the re-spins, their values are combined to deliver an even bigger payout boost.
Money Cart Bonus
To activate the game’s second feature, the Money Cart Bonus, you’ll need to land 3 or more Bonus symbols on the same. You’ll then head to a new screen made up of a new 6 reel, 4 row machine. The triggering Bonus symbols then reveal a value which will be a multiple of your bet size. You could also be awarded a Persistent Symbol which awards its modifier multiple times instead than just once.
An initial allocation of 3 spins is awarded. On every spin each symbol position can reveal a blank, a multiplier value or a character inspired modifier symbol. If you land only blanks, you lose a spin. Land a new symbol and the spins reset to three. The round ends when you run out of spins. If you fill a whole row with symbols, another reel is added, boosting your chances of landing a winner.
You can keep track of the current value of the payout in the box in the top right-hand corner of the screen. The prize is shown as a multiple of your bet size from the triggering spin.
The character symbols offer a wide range of modifiers. Here’s what the bandits can deliver:
- Collector – This symbol collects all the payout values on display on the other symbols on display and adds them to its own total.
- Persistent Collector – This symbol collects all the values on display elsewhere on the reels and adds them to its own total at the end of every spin. It doesn’t collect its own value though.
- Adjacent Collector – This collects the value on the 8 adjacent symbols and adds them to its own.
- Persistent Adjacent Collector – Land this to collect the values from the 8 adjacent symbols every spin.
- Payer – The Payer reveals a multiplier value which is then applied to the other symbols currently on the reels.
- Persistent Payer – This does the same as the Payer, adding multipliers, but it does so at the end of every spin that follows.
- Adjacent Payer – All adjacent symbols are boosted courtesy of a multiplier value.
- Persistent Adjacent Payer – A bet multiplier is applied to all symbols adjacent to this one at the end of the spin and on each subsequent spin.
- Sniper – The sniper takes shots at between 3 and 8 symbols and doubles their value. For example, a 2x symbol that was hit by a shot from the sniper would become 4x. The sniper can shoot the same symbol multiple times.
- Persistent Sniper – The sniper doubles the value of between 3 and 8 symbols at the end of every spin, not just the current spin. Collector Payer – In this combo modifier, 3, 4 or 5 symbols are targeted. The values are added to the Collector Payer’s own value. The updated totals are then awarded.
- Persistent Collector Payer – This does the same as the Collector Payer at the end of each remaining spin, not just the current spin.
- Arms Dealer – Between 1 and 4 Bonus symbols convert into feature symbols. Once converted the feature symbols award their modifier extra.
- Persistent Arms Dealer – One bonus symbol converts into a Feature symbol at the end of each spin.
- Necromancer – Between 2 and 7 single-use feature symbols that have already been used can be brought back to life courtesy of the Necromancer.
- Persistent Necromancer – Between 1 and 7 previously used Feature symbols are brought back to the life and awarded at the end of each remaining spin.
- Persistent Shapeshifter – This symbol turns into one of Collector, Payer, Sniper, Collector Payer, Arms Dealer or Unlocker on each remaining spin.
- Unlocker – A row that had lock becomes unlocked when this modifier is awarded.
- Reset Plus – This increases the number of spins.
- Upgrader – When this lands, between one and three feature symbols are upgraded to their Persistent version.
It’s important to note here that although there is a lot going on in the bonus features with all the modifiers, the average win in this bonus round is just 96.5 x your total bet.
Buy the Bonus
Players outside the UK can buy the Money Cart Bonus. There are 2 options available:
- 100 x bet = Original
- 500 x bet = Persistent
If you opt to Buy the Bonus, the RTP rises from 96.10% up to 96.50%.
Money Train 4 Slot Verdict
The Money Train franchise is one of the most popular in the world of online slots. Relax Gaming had a lot to live up to when creating the fourth and final release in the series. They’ve hit the bullseye though, delivering another top game that combines superb design flair with some cracking features.
The Money Cart Bonus is superb. At first glance, it looks a bit complicated with all the different possible modifiers. It’s actually pretty straightforward. It’s the persistent features that you’ll really be wanting to see as they pay out time after time after time. The new addition of the Arms Dealer adds yet another level of extras.
Relax Gaming has built on what was on offer in the other Money Train slots and made it even bigger and bolder in Money Train 4. The maximum win has got progressively bigger and bigger, starting at 20,000 x in the first Money Train slot then rising to 50,000 x and 100,000 x in slots 2 and 3. The 150,000 x bet up for grabs in Money Train 4 blows those figures out of the water.
As usual for this series, the volatility here is very high. We’re talking a maximum 5 out of 5 on the variance scale so tread carefully.
We had high hopes when Relax Gaming announced it was releasing Money Train 4. This terrific slot met them too. The developer has said that the Money Train series has reached the end of the line. If so, they gang has bowed out in style.
Money Train 4 Pros and Cons
Pros
- 150,000 x bet max wins
- Arguably the best slot of 2023
- Superb visuals and soundtrack
Cons
- Highly volatile
Other Money Train Series Slots
The Money Train series has become a hugely popular set of slots ever since the original Money Train slot was released back in August 2019. Money Train 2 was then a solid improvement on the original, with Money Train 3 being bigger and better still. Money Train 4 is supposedly the last in the series and it won plenty of awards in 2023 as arguably the best slot on the market.
While non-UK players can buy their way into bonus features, that just isn’t an option for UK players. However, this series of slots has its own separate series of games for just the bonus feature, albeit with lower max win potential. It’s called Money Cart, and there are four separate versions to match the four Money Train slots.
