This is the first GamesOS slot I have played in quite a while, and I'm hugely impressed by the increase in quality compared with what I remember. The graphics and animations in 888 Turtles are really well done, and even the paytable looks to be more than worthy of any slot players attention. Considering I previously thought of anything by this developer as complete junk, that's a big turnaround indeed!

The bonus round is triggered in the traditional way by hitting three or more scatter symbols, but things get a little more interesting after this when the game invites you to choose how many free spins you wish to receive. Picking the highest number of spins limits the possible multiplier to 5x - still quite reasonable - whereas going for the minimum five spins opens up the possibility of a 15x or 30x multiplier. All was looking great so far, but there's one major caveat...

During the bonus round, the multiplier is selected individually for every winning combination, rather than for each spin or complete bonus round. This is incredibly confusing because you can win on several pay ways at once, each benefitting from a different multiplier, and so you have to pay a lot of attention to establish which pay ways are paying out which amounts. Also, the multiplier is only applied if your winning combination includes a wild symbol, and as these only appear on reels two and four you won't be hitting all that many multiplied combinations.

This is still a great game though, and I did hit some pretty big wins during my hour or so's play despite the slightly player unfriendly bonus rules. The sad thing is that there are still very few trustworthy casinos I know about which actually offer GamesOS slots, and until that changes games such as 888 Turtles are destined to remain unknown to the majority of players.
