“Viking Quest” is another of the slots produced by “Big Time Gaming” where they have been incorporated Mega Icons with an area of up to 4 x 4 squares and, on them, they may be shown any of the regular symbols or also special symbols responsible for triggering Free Spins round, Chest of Fortune bonus, Gone Fishing feature, and even the wild symbol.
Now, this slot has 40 paylines and you must pay a stake of one credit per line, 40 in total per spin, and the main problem I personally see in this slot is its tiny payouts during the base game, which are mainly the result of weak prices stipulated on the paytable for practically all standard symbols; I've even come to count more than 30 turns in a row all of them with payouts less than my total bet; and in fact, I only remember having heard the horn announcing big wins only about 3 or 4 times during a session of over an hour and a half, and only one of them, at the time, was decent enough to just recover losses, nothing else; others were not even enough as to achieving that; finally it became impossible for me to prevent these small Vikings go away with their booty.
In addition, the three rounds of free spins that I could trigger, they finished it with a winning of just 15x my total bet and the other two with a profit of $0, and I had the impression that larger mega icons seem to pass by when there is a matching symbol on reel 1.
My luck also didn’t appear to improve in the pond while fishing nor when I had the chance to open one of the treasure chests, in general, bonus rounds were not very generous with me.
At this point, I think I'd rather keep playing the slots “Temple Quest” and “Faeries Fortune” which were the first games where Big Time Gaming used Mega Icons, and which seem to have a fairer paytable and even a better hit average that this one. In short, I think “Viking Quest” is an extremely attractive slot, but in practice it offers less chance of winning than its predecessors.
