The Final Countdown is a game that was released a few years ago by Big Time Gaming game provider. I remember there was quite a lot of buzz around this release, also due to the fact that the game includes a song called the "Final Countdown" by a group named Europe. For me personally this game gives nostalgic 80's vibes and ever since it came out, it's a slot I play from time to time. It's definitely one of my favorite games from big Time Gaming due to its vibrant design and exciting bonus features. 

The game itself is inspired by the space theme and it brings you to a rocket ship that's waiting for the final countdown before heading into space. As I mentioned, the game has very bright and vibrant colors and it's a game that's definitely nice to look at. When it comes to bonus symbols, there's low paying symbols like letters and numbers while the high paying symbols are colorful gems, which is a classic thing from Big Time Gaming.

When it comes to the features, I think this game has a lot to offer. In the base game, the middle reels can sync and land either scatter symbols, wild symbol or other matching symbols. Many times because of this feature I've landed the free spins bonus round. Then there are also wild symbols- a spaceman and a space girl- they can land different wild multipliers. I've had several big base game hits simply due to a winning combination with a wild that has big value, such as 27x. 

However, the main part of this game is the free spins bonus round, which is triggered by 3 or more scatter symbols. Then you get to choose between 2 free spins features- either 8 free spins with a guaranteed wild or 15 free spins where you have the possibility to land a wild symbol with a random value. The difference is that if you select the 8 free spins, you need to collect scatters and each one reveals a different value from 1 to 3. Once you've collected 10, you get additional free spins and the wild grows in size and value- from 4x to 27x. There are altogether 3 stages, the last one being a 276x multiplier that covers the entire middle reels. While the other bonus feature can give you random size and value wilds or no wilds at all. 

I've tried both of the bonus features and I feel like the Countdown bonus with 8 spins is much more volatile, since you only start with the 4x wild and it doesn't necessarily mean that you'll get it in a winning combination. Also collecting scatters with a value of 10 can be difficult, but I personally like the collection mechanic and for me it adds the chase element. Also if you are lucky enough to get past the first stage, there's a good possibility for nice wins. My personal best win has been around 400x bet due to this bonus feature. 

Overall, this is a very entertaining game that is visually pleasing and has good winning potential.

Had only given this slot a few hundred spins over a few sessions and took just under 400 spins to trigger the feature. The music is so suitable for this slot and graphics to add it that futuristic look just gets into the feature and you will get to enjoy it. RTP is reasonable at 96.65% and that is quite acceptable. The base game can throw out some good wins too I had the best base win of 34x during one of my sessions. I would have to say this is one of Big Time Gaming's better slots. Much better than something like their Holy Diver or Kingmaker.
