How to Play Sweet Bonanza Slot

If I honestly think about where Pragmatic Play was when they used to be Top Gun with their game releases, it was bad and they were non-existent, but somehow in todays life they just seem to get better and better. All their latest releases are top class and you hear about them every day, and Sweet Bonanza is definitely one of them. Of course with that said and like all their latest releases most of their slots are highly volatile including this one.

Anyway, Sweet Bonanza is an intrusion of colour to a slot which really is a bit different from their previous releases. On the reels you’ll see an assortment of fruit and sweet symbols. They include bananas, grapes, melons, plums and apples. More rewarding are the green, blue and purple sweets. The best symbol is the red heart. If you land 8 or 9 of these anywhere on the reels for a pay-out of 8 times your stake, 10 or 11 reward 20 times your stake and if you land 12 or more you will win x40 you're stake.

After a winning combination hits, the Tumble feature (Similar as avalanche feature) kicks in and a tumble takes place. The winning symbols are removed from play and new ones drop in and replace them. These tumbles continue if a new winning combination is created.

That Free Spins feature is activated by landing 4, 5 or 6 of the lollipop scatters on the same spin - you’ll then receive 2, 4 or 80 times your stake respectively as well as 10 free spins. Look out here for the candy bomb symbols. These come with a multiplier which can boost your tumbling wins by between 2x and 100x. I like this slot and if you enable the extra bet feature free spins come more often. This slot is good for wagering I must admit. Bonus feature pays on average x20 – x70 most times. Think of this slot as Sweet Alchemy or Tome of Madness bonus frequent pays.

As much as they release good and interesting slots, they should not be taking this Buy me feature as a future option. Most providers went down the drain for add buy free spins options to their slots. I do not want to see them losing their reputation for this.

An all-time favorite of mine, Sweet Bonanza has a perfectly balanced RTP - at least from my experience. My gaming sessions can last for hours without much variation to my bankroll, which is great, considering that it is a fun and colorful game. Since fun is my ultimate goal with slots, I can only recommend it.

I find its boost feature a bit useless. I do not notice any real advantage in terms of activating the bonus faster and the bonus lollipops only take the room of other matchable symbols. In the end, it just consumes my bankroll.

Sweet Bonanza is one of the most popular games from the Pragmatic Play game provider that was released a long time ago. Ever since then it's been a game I play from time to time hoping to get my big win but it hasn't happened yet. That being said, I think it's one of my favorite cluster pays games and definitely one of my favorites from Pragmatic Play.

The game itself is inspired by the fruit theme and has different fruits as well as sweet candies as the main symbols. I like the fact that this is one of the games that don't have letter or number symbols as low paying symbols, just different fruits. And when it comes to payouts, the game has a cluster pays mechanic so you need to get at least 8 matching symbols on any of the reels for a winning combination. Then the winning symbols cascade and new ones land on the reels. All in all, the base game mechanic is simple and so far my best base game wins range from 50x-100x bet.

Then aside from that there's a free spins bonus round, which you trigger by landing 4 candy scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. For that you get 10 free spins. The free spins can be very volatile and I've had multiple bonus features that don't reach a win over 30x bet. There's no extra bonus feature or a multiplier in the free spins, but again, you hope to get winning combinations with multipliers. I've had a few wins over 300x bet when I've landed the 50x multiplier on a small winning combination. But I haven't managed to get any impressive wins to this day.

Overall it's a nice game and I think it's so entertaining due to the simplicity of it. There's also a bonus buy option that costs 100x bet which I've used a few times too, but since it's a volatile game, the bonus round can easily return close to 0 win too. While I haven't had any win close to 1000x bet on it, this game definitely has the winning potential due to the multipliers and I would recommend trying it for those who enjoy cluster pays slots.

If a game has a maximum win of 10,000x the bet amount, would you consider the game to be of high volatility or very high volatility? I would consider it to be of high volatility, at the very least, but not to Pragmatic Play though. Some of their games have strange volatility ratings, and I would even say that some of their maximum win claims are simply out of this world, possibly even impossible to achieve, so don’t be easily fooled by such huge claims!

Take this Sweet Bonanza game, for instance. The maximum possible win is indicated as a whopping 21,100x the bet amount, yet it carries only a medium volatility rating - it just doesn’t make sense, or seem right! Other game providers would certainly have rated such games as high volatility, or very high even, and this is one of the reasons why I always find it very hard to trust Pragmatic Play games!

In the first place, the paytable isn’t a good one at all, and the symbols don’t have high win values either. The Wild symbol only appears during the free spins, they are non-paying, but have multipliers of 2x up to 100x. When 2 or more Wild symbols combine to make a win, the multipliers would add up, and this is the only way to get nice big wins from this 6-reels 5-rows clusters-pay game.

Here's one more strange thing about this Sweet Bonanza game – the starting bet is 0.40 per spin, with up to 20x multiplier and a Buy feature too, but you can also opt for the 0.50 starting bet instead, which provides more Scatter symbols for better chances of getting the free spins games, with higher multipliers of up to 25x, but without the Buy feature. Honestly speaking, I don’t like that Buy feature, I hardly ever use it, so I have no choice but to go for the 0.50 bet per spin option, making it more expensive to play. As you can see by now, there are many things in Sweet Bonanza that aren’t to my liking at all.

In actual play, most of the payouts in the base game are simply very low, but better wins can be achieved during the free spins play. My two sessions on this Sweet Bonanza game wasn’t that bad really, getting up to 198x win, but is still not good or satisfying enough for me. What the game’s medium volatility rating means is that you’d get plenty of small wins frequently, but with rare chances of getting big wins.
