Royal Express: Hold and Win Slot

Royal express: hold and win is a 3x3 reel slot from Playson with 5 paylines. The game has the feature of hold and spin in the bonus game and pot feature in the base game. Including wilds there are 9 symbols and to make a winning connection you need to land 3 similar symbols on a payline. Wild is the highest paying symbol and connecting three of these gives you a win of 50x your bet. Bells, BAR, watermelon and grapes are the premium symbols and connecting three of these gives you a win of 30x to 16x. Plums, orange, lime and cherries are the lowest paying symbols and connecting 3 of a kind pays you win ranging from 4x to 1x. On reel 1 and 3 you will see coin symbols with values ranging from 1x to 15x your bet and to win these values you must land the Boost symbol which is a symbol with an image of Train. The boost symbol appears only on reel 2 and you can have a maximum of 3 boost symbols. Every time you make a spin there is a chance for you to land the coin or the boost symbol and whenever that happens these symbols get collected by the train logo on top of the slot frame. Over a period of time you will see and animation of gold coins in front of the train which means your chance of landing the bonus feature are increasing. Then on any random spin they train may unleash gold coins which means the bonus feature has been triggered. You can also land the bonus by landing coins one reel 1 and 3 with the boost symbol in the middle.
The bonus feature starts by collecting all coin values and you are given 3 re-spins. In these three re-spins you need to land a minimum of one coin or a wild symbol to keep the feature alive and the failure to do so ends the feature. Every time you land a coin it gets collected by the boost symbol whereas every wild that appears increases the value of cell by 2 and then every other wild increases the multiplier by 1. You can also land jackpot coins with values of 25x, 50x, 150x and 1000x your bet.

The base game could have been better. The payout values of symbols barring the top 3 is low. That’s six symbols. The bonus buy price is 75x your bet which I think is too high keeping in mind that these bonuses have the tendency to end after adding 1 or two coins and in some cases no coins at all. The minimum bet starts at 20 cents whereas similar slots from other providers have minimum bet starting from 5 cents.
