I had the chance to try out Platinum Lightning Deluxe by BGaming two years ago in 2022 and wow, what an experience! As soon as I opened the game, I was struck by the stunning visuals of those "Greek statues" who are certainly "eye-catching", if you know what I mean. BGaming didn't hold back on the spicy details of nudity!

The mythological theme really drew me in.......for a solid 10 seconds of staring at those spherical wonders, with it's 25 paylines and ancient Greek imagery that's sure to entice any player. Usually I had some free spins to use for PLD, so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to give it a whirl. Now, I have to say, while the graphics are gorgeous, the gameplay left me feeling a bit underwhelmed compared to some of BGaming's other offerings.

The main feature is triggered by landing two minotaur symbols on reels 1 and 5, which gives you 10 free spins with those reels turning fully wild. Sounds exciting, right? Well, upon experiencing it, the free spins were a bit of a tease. More often than not, I'd get matching symbols on reels 2 and 3, but reel 4 would let me down. Talk about a Greek tragedy!

Don't get me wrong, hitting wilds during the free spins can lead to some nice 5-of-a-kind wins. But even then, the payouts felt a bit stingy. The lack of other bonus features or jackpots really limits how much you can win here which gets back to my actions for only using free spins here if it happens to be available in my casino choices.

My best hit was 4 scatters for a 77x win of $19.25 at Slotum casino. Not exactly the stuff of legends to talk about!

One thing that kept me coming back was the........umm....no not the background but the high volatility. There's always that chance of hitting it big, even if it rarely happens. The game has an RTP of 96.29%, which isn't bad but you really feel those dry spells between wins.

I have to admit, those twin nude statues are quite the sight, they definitely spice things up thanks to BGaming! But eye candy alone can't make up for lacklustre gameplay. While I appreciate the attention to detail in the visuals, I found myself wishing for more exciting features to match.

In the end, Platinum Lightning Deluxe is a bit of a questionable slot. The graphics are top-notch (and other things that are "top-notched"!), there's potential for some decent wins with the scatter and wild multipliers (up to 777x!). But the limited features and often disappointing payouts left me wanting more to see. It's worth a spin if you're into Greek mythology or just want to admire some artfully rendered statues. Just don't expect to be struck by lightning-fast riches, only be aroused...........for art is what I meant!
