Oh my, for a very long time I couldn't understand why people liked Planet Fortune slot as it usually was absolutely horrible to me, whenever I'd give it the time of the day. However, after Slotsfighter tournament, where Planet Fortune was one of the games we played, it did show me that it has potential and afterwards I've spent quite some sessions with it.
So technically it's a 5 reel slot with 20 paylines and the design is inspired by this sophisticated 'Another world' or 'Another Planet' or at least that's the first thing that comes to mind when I look at it. Being a massive fan of Twin Spin slot, I guess I thought that I'd find the base game feature- the expanding wheels more appealing that I actually do. So the way it works is simple- at any spin on base game, the reels may 'twinnify' and become one of the symbols. The downside of this feature, similarly as it is with Twin Spin, is that for the most part the feature covers reels that don't help to make a winning combination. From this feature on base game I haven't had any wins higher than roughly 30x my bet.
But then there's the free spins bonus round! I like the fact that Planet Fortune doesn't require the scatter symbols to be placed on any specific reels, as long as you get 3 or more golden robots, you get 10 free spins. However, my favorite part is that the scatters that trigger the bonus, stay on the screen as the free spins start and become moving wilds. And that happens with every new scatter symbol that comes up. Only due to this feature I have managed to score a couple of 100x bet winnings. Sometimes it could take ages to get the free spins bonus and the game can be quite cruel- even the screenshot I added shows that it nearly emptied my balance before giving 150x bet win.
Overall I do like this game, when it's in a good mood I believe it can be a good game for wagering. Visually it's also pleasing and I do think there's some decent winning potential. On the other hand, I have to say that it's really hard to get any high winnings on base game only and the twinning reel feature rarely pays more than 20x bet.
