Grand Monarch is a video slot game from IGT that I play from time to time. This is a very bright and cheerful game and when it is generous it makes my days and nights cheerful too.

Grand Monarch is a 5 reels and 25 pay lines video slot game. The first time I played this game I had an excellent session. I had some nice wins during the base game which helped me with my balance and stretched my bankroll so I could play longer. I also managed to activate the free spins couple of times. Based on that experience I made a deposit couple of days ago to play exactly this slot. I started placing min bets and once I started spinning the reels I started losing my money. I simply could not land even one decent win. I was seeing the stacked butterflies, most of the time, going down and never stopping on the reels. If they did stop it was on the fifth reel and I did not have any good symbols on the first 4 reels.

Besides the stacked symbols this game is powered with only one special feature, the free spins. To activate this feature you need at least 3 chrysalis symbols on the second, third and the fourth reel. There are 5 free spins, and the last time I managed to activate the free spins even couple of times. That was not exciting at all because I did not win anything higher than 5 euros. After this kind of a win I was not excited anymore so I decided to quit.

Grand Monarch is a nice game, do not get me wrong. This is yet another proof that online slots are unpredictable, sometimes you win sometimes you lose but the point is to try again. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone because I know I will play it again for sure.

Probably it’s not what I would expect from a slot game with a name like this but Grand Monarch it’s absolutely not a disappointment in visualization standpoint as it has a very solid graphics. The slot is dedicated to butterflies and flowers and the very colorful symbol illustration scheme was an obvious thing for the creators. I guess they did a good job with it as the overall interface is very charming and they succeeded to find the proper colours and fortunately they didn’t overuse them. Somehow the screen of the game is reminded me of a little bit of Playtech style and I think knowing the more famous developers’ works this comparison can’t be a good sign.

This is a 50-payline slot but I must say the game features and what they offer don’t completely meets with the previously hoped ones and qualities. The beautiful Butterfly character is the best paying one which can reward us up to 1000 times of line bet and it also functions as Wild to substitute for all other symbols. Unfortunately, a win multiplier value doesn’t come hand in hand with Wild which is a real shortcoming of the game. I like the Wilds appear on the reels in stacked format which really help the winning combination to be completed but if I could choose I would prefer to have it multiplier ability.

3 special Bonus characters on the middle reels only doubles our total bet and just reward 5 free spins. This is basically a very limited Scatter symbol and even though the free spins are played with noticeable more Wilds and bigger wins I still think this figure must have much more quality to offer us.

As it became obvious by now we can’t consider this product a feature rich slot and to be honest the extras and their qualities what we can play here with leave something to be desired. I really feel that something’s missing here and somehow I should be rewarded and treated by the game much better. I think the Wild should have more extras to offer and the free spins have to be consists of more spins and any special add-on's because how the game works now is not too player-friendly and I just need something more from the slot.

This product is a little bit of a disappointment for me in money wise standpoint and it’s maybe because of my excessive expectations or whatever but this slot definitely can’t provide that entertainment and exciting factor what I like to find in a video slot. I’m not saying it has terrible payout tendency but definitely it doesn’t fall into that category that I would rave about or just appreciate. If I don’t take into account the fact that this is a 50-payline slot, I believe it still should have better payout system in use and the lack of this ability really determine my relationships with the game and limit my access to this slot.

Grand Monarch is a game powered by IGT with 50 lines and one feature. I really like the way this game looks. It brings a nice and calm atmosphere to a player and sometimes offers a huge pays. I had this happen to me on few games, I would get a huge win once and after that the game would always kill me.

When I played this game first time I did not bother finding out anything about it and took a blind shot. I played on the bet of €0.50, just to see how the game plays. In few spins I got butterflies on the first three reels. They covered the entire reels and actually created a nice picture. I knew that I won but I had no clue that they were wild. The pop up came out saying that I got a big win and I let it accumulate. It past €20 and my interest grew. Then €50, €100 and I could not believe it. A total of €130 was given me and I was super happy. I doubled my balance and the best thing is that I had no clue about whats going on.
Since then I've been hooked and the idea of getting four or five reels with butterflies has been haunting me.

But this story does not have a happy ending and I'll tell you why. After that pay I never managed to get even two first reels with butterflies. The game has gone super bad and that €130 has been long spent on it. I tried it on bigger bets and even double tapping but nothing is coming out. Even the feature is impossible to get and when I do get it it only pays 25 x at most. The game that I liked so much has changed into this monster that I hate. These days I know that if I play it I'm going to lose. Then 'What If?' comes to my mind and I play it anyways, just to lose more money.

I'm truly lost because I know of the games abilities but I also know of its bad side. Therefore my rating is going to be 5 out of 10.
