PartyGaming products never were famous about their exceptional high quality graphics and Goanna Gold is no exception of this observation. The slot got a little gold mining theme if it can be called a theme at all but the visualization is very poor. The background has no illustration function and doesn’t give anything to the big picture while the used symbols are neither beautiful not too funny as they represent lantern, nugget, bat and two cartoon animal figures. It seems to me us the creators not much dealt with Goanna Gold and maybe they saved all of their creativity and hard work for another game (though I didn’t success to meet that other slot yet) but there’s not really any part of the interface that would get a positive evaluation from me.

The designers woke up when they reached that point in the creation process when had to architect the game segment as this little slot has surprisingly good payout rules. Though the Snake, wild symbol only can replace other symbols without multiplying value adding functionality but has the ability to pay up to 20.000 times of line bet which is very respectable especially at a 9-payline slot. The Nugget, scatter also has nice rewarding quality as it can award max. 200 times of total bet plus trigger the game’s only bonus game if 3 or more of them land anywhere on the reels. There the players have six attempts to pick a gem and every 2 or more identical symbol combinations reveal their prizes at the end of the mini game and the sum of credits is multiplied by total bet. The top payout here is 5000 credits. Unfortunately, the bonus is not triggered very often so don’t be surprised if 30-45 minutes quickly gone by without getting a chance to enter side game.

Goanna Gold offers great amount to win and that must be the main (perhaps the only) goal of a player here because other than that it’s not a good game. Sadly, it doesn’t provide an attractive appearance, is not too interesting product and maybe a little bit stereotyped and playing it for a while players can feel actually it’s a boring game.
