Diamond Cats is one of my all time favorite video slot games coming from Amatic. As the name suggests the main symbols in the game are different cats while the diamonds are the wild symbols. The reason I like this game so much is the big payout potential it has in the bonus round and during base play. All of the symbols in the game including the wilds can come stacked across the reels but I don’t think it’s possible to get a full screen of wilds on the reels. You can get some nice payouts when you see a full screen of identical cats followed by the Nice Win animation on the screen.

But most of the excitements in the game happen during the bonus round. This game only has a free spins bonus with a great sticky wilds feature. The bonus is triggered with 3 or more bonus scatter symbols on the reels and the player is awarded with 10 free spins. There are no additional multipliers in the bonus round but the free spins can be retriggered. The wild symbols become sticky on the 3 central reels and are held in place until the feature is over.

Now what’s great about this bonus is the re-triggers. If you get a re-trigger in the bonus round in 80% of the cases you are looking at a win of over 500 x total bet. This has happened to me lots of times but I have never managed to get 2 re-triggers in the free spins. Leaving Cats’ issue behind, the design of this slot is quite nice, but perhaps I consider that the control board is not sufficiently intuitive or comfortable, especially when choosing bet level since you have to press bet button repeatedly until you find your level, to make this a little easier operation, you have to click on any of the side numbers where you have the option to raise or lower your bet on the right and at the left side you can set the number of lines, this is my very first time I choose my bet level this way. I also do not like to have to press the "collect" button to continue with my spins, this makes the game a little slower and not to all the players like to use the "gamble" feature including me.
