Every Coin that lands in the base game flies into an accumulator and can randomly trigger the main feature. The feature also launches instantly when you reveal Coins on the first and third reels and Collect symbols on the second reel.

We took 70 spins of the Coin Storm X-Mas slot demo before first unlocking the feature. Thirteen of those spins had two or more bonus symbols, and thus had a chance to trigger the feature, but when it eventually came, it was via all three bonus symbols (two Coins and one Collect). So, while you can trigger the feature with just one Coin/Collect, it’s much more likely to come from the full trio.
It's not technically a Coin Storm X-Mas Free Spins round, and it operates more like a Hold and Win round. Collect symbols stick to the reels and grab values from all Coins. You have three respins to collect as many of these as possible, but the spin counter resets for each new Coin or Collect.
In addition to standard Coin symbols, Jackpot Coins can also land. There are four in total, awarding fixed payouts of 12.5x, 25x, 75x, and 500x.
