*IF* you get the bonus, I used to hate "wasting" a follower on get a last spin multiplier as typically it would not amount to much. However, I did manage to get a mostly-wild last spin win with 30x, playing $10 (CDN) which worked out to $130,000. The following week I incredibly hit again in the bonus with 2 * 4x (8x) for a win of $56,000 (CDN). Once you reach the max level, there doesn't seem to be any advantage (I've collected over 80,000 scatter symbols. After many months of playing, I've only had 5 x Single Scatters once ($10 bet = $500 starting point for bonus) although I've had numerous 3 or 4 scatters once in a while with the last being a double or triple. Also had a full screen of stacked wilds this week ($10 bet = $15,000). I can't really complain as I have been incredibly lucky on this game.

More often than not when you finally get the bonus you don't win much or anything at all. It seems too that the more spins you get (30 spins + 15 spins + base 5) for example, the LESS likely you are to "hit" as these seem, at least for me, to pay the least. I seem to do better with only the base 5 spins but a couple of 4x or 5x multipliers. Where I play, it is unclear what the best selections for the game are in that it says the payout varies between 92%-96% depending on the level. I am unclear if it makes any difference which deity I select (although I tend to stick with Anubis now even my 2 big wins were with Ra selected. Similarly, I am unclear of which of the 3 bonus round "areas" to select, but stick with the 3rd (right).

Huge drain on your money, especially the lure of bigger better prizes in the bonus if you collect enough supporters as you spin away thinking it will have potential to pay you big money later on. Never had the experience of picking up numerous .5x to 2x wins to keep the spins ticking over 20 spins and win next to nothing. Teases like hell, have reels 1 ,4 and 5 stacking with wilds, and other high value stacks on other reels, Stacks keep on coming, but never connects with anything.


I occasionally throw the odd £5 at it in case I hit the million to one spin and win 20x the bet.

This is one of those games that you need to play regularly to unlock new features. Most of the wins, the good wins come from those features. The first time I activated the free spins I had the first level unlocked so I won 5 free spins with x 3 multiplier and I won 96 euros. I thought this was not bad, since I did not have the choice to choose a feature now.

Basically you need to collect scatters, or as they call them followers to unlock new levels in this game. I have unlocked the Alexandria Bonus map, the Nile River Valley Map and I also have an extra scatter on the last reel and one more follower that I can place on the map. This means that I have only 180 followers so far and to reach the last level I need to collect more than 1250 followers.

This is an intense game that is definitely worth trying if you are into this kind of games with complicated bonus rounds.

With so many existing Cleopatra themed games, IGT has just come up with another new game, entitled Cleopatra Plus. Hmm, I was wondering what that 'Plus' means, but I found out later it was for 'Level Up' play. This new game plays with 40-paylines and has features that play differently from the usual ways. I was a bit confused when I first looked at the game and the paytable, all the time wondering why the need for Scatter symbols like 1-follower, 2-followers and 3-followers, which only added more confusion. Then, there are also location maps for placing those followers. Oh gees! Why make such a complicated game in the first place? Being innovative is one thing, but too many changes at one time can be very confusing and misleading. Nonetheless, let's get on with this game.

Cleopatra is the Wild symbol, 5 of which pays 1500x the line bet. It is stacked in 2, 3, 6 or 10 symbols on each reel, in both the base and Free Spins games, it doubles all wins with it, and substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter symbol. The Scatter symbols come in 3 variations - 1-follower, 2-followers and 3-followers, but doesn't pay anything for getting them. Yep, a dumb Scatter symbol. Getting 3, 4 or 5 of any Scatter symbols trigger an initial 5 free spins without any multiplier. More free spins, multipliers, cash prizes and extra features can be won in the next screen before the Free Spins game start. In the base game, each Scatter symbol adds followers to the Bonus Map, from 1 follower (1 of 1-follower Scatter symbol) up to 50 followers (5 of 3-followers Scatter symbols). The game starts at Level 1 with only 1-follower Scatter symbols. Collecting the required number of followers, shown at top right of screen, will unlock the next higher level. Milestones are at 50, 120, 200, and so on. The symbols in the game pay from 400x to 40x the line bet for 5 of each kind. A very low paytable.

When a Free Spins game is activated by getting any 3 or more Scatter symbols, a screen comes up, awarding 3 to 5 followers (for 3 to 5 Scatters) to be placed at the 5 locations on the map. Each location awards either more free spins, up to 30 free spins, a multiplier of 2x - 5x, or a cash prize of up to 30x total bet amount. The higher levels also award a Last Spin Multiplier of up to 50x, and Super Spins of 3 up to 10 free spins.

Before playing this game, I was having some confusion in my head, as to how the game would play and pay. Those 3 different Scatter symbols were confusing at first, but only became apparent later on, as I progressed deeper into the game. Nevertheless, the very low paytable provided low payouts most of the time, despite getting stacks of those Cleopatra Wilds on the reels. The Free Spins games that came paid poorly, from as low as 5x up to 34x the total bet so far. The best win that I had came in the base game, getting 4 reels with stacked Wilds, but only managed to pay 92x my bet amount. That was totally disappointing! A direct reflection of the very low values for the symbols.

Personally, I think those big wins can only come in the higher levels of the game, but how much higher is needed? A lot of deposits would probably need to be burnt first before seeing a nice good win, but I'm not in favour of this at all. Nosirree. If a game can only pay big upon many more higher levels into the game, then it isn't a game for me. The initial levels have shown to give low payouts only, with disappointing Free Spins games, I must admit, so Cleopatra Plus may never see more plays from me, even though the game can be interesting enough to play.
