Excalibur is the Scatter that, with a bit of luck, will trigger the Free Spins bonus round.
Fateful Wild

Summary
Avalon: The Lost Kingdom seems to be packed with action and brimming with rewarding features. Arthurian legend started in Avalon, and now is the time for you to see if you can put this magic into increasing your bankroll. BGaming managed to capture the true essence of the story and thanks to high volatility we have the faith that this slot is going to be successful, and as such is definitely worth checking out.
King Arthur movies have always excited me and there are quite a number of games by various providers that are themed on King Arthur, but somehow or rather, none of those games really caught my interest. They tend not to play or pay as good as other better games, hence they’ve never gotten into my favourite games list. When I first saw this game from BGaming, I was thinking perhaps it plays like Microgaming’s Avalon or Avalon II game, which to me, are the better of King Arthur’s games, but it doesn’t.
The overall presentation of the game is actually quite nice, with pleasant looking icons, but upon looking into its paytable, things took a turn instead. Getting 5 Wilds, for example, would pay only a low 800 coins win, whilst the other symbols pay down to just 75 coins. Excalibur, the sword embedded in the stone, is the scatter symbol, but doesn’t pay anything for its appearance, so that sucks! 3 or more Excalibur symbols would trigger the free spins feature game, awarding 10, 12 or 15 free spins, with a random multiplier of 2x up to 7x, but I really feel that it should start with 15 free spins instead, to give the free spins game much more punch. After all, a 2x starting multiplier doesn’t give a good punch in the first place, even though the multiplier does increase by 1x with each new win from the free spins.
There is also a randomly activated feature in the base game, the Excalibur feature, whereby Wild symbols would be randomly thrown onto the reels, but this doesn’t seem to add much punching power either, simply because they don’t come in great numbers. 1 and 2 Wilds are common, but more than that is a rarity.
I really find playing Avalon The Lost Kingdom game a struggle, because it isn’t easy to get those 3 Sword symbols to trigger the free spins feature game. From my two separate sessions, I could only get one feature game, but was lucky enough that a nice 70x win finally came from the free spins, and from there on, I decided not to carry on playing. I have played several other games from BGaming before, and they simply do not favour any extended play, so it is always best to quit early before losing more. Anyway, the game doesn’t really attract me to try for bigger wins, so no regrets in not trying.
