Money Train Review - Editor’s Impressions
Get out of Dodge on the Wild West-themed Money Train game by Relax Gaming. You’ll be joining some pretty suspicious characters in this exciting slot offering. The bonus round not only brings Free Spins but also special symbols that act as multipliers. One character can even open two bonus reels.
Our full Money Train slot review lets you learn about this game's features and more. We’ll help you stay out of trouble with the sheriff and the outlaws by explaining the features of the slot, like its RTP, bonus features, and volatility.
Having played quite a few rounds of this game, we found that the bonus feature is the key. If you land a Widener symbol, a new reel is added. If you’re lucky, you can add two new reels, which ups the number of opportunities to win.
Overview Of Money Train Game
This 5 reel slot game has 40 paylines, which pay from left to right on adjacent reels for three, four, or five matching symbols. This slot has proved to be so popular that Relax Gaming has brought out three more slots in the series. We found that by landing the extra reels, we could win more prizes, which added to the excitement of the game. We also liked the theme, and the spaghetti Western soundtrack holds it together nicely.
The symbol that pays the most is the sheriff, with the debt collector, TNT expert, and female gunslinger all carrying decreasing values. The playing card symbols make up the low-paying symbols.
The bet range in this game is £0.10 for the minimum bet and £50 for the maximum bet, so you can see it is a suitable title for low stakes players and high rollers alike.

Money Train RTP, Payout, And Volatility
This game is rated as very high volatility, and the Money Train RTP is 96.20%, which is slightly above the industry average. With high volatility wins are less frequent but more significant in the payout. The Money Train slot machine maximum win is 20,000x.
The symbols payouts range from 0.10x to 1000x your bet. They payout for three, four, or five matches.
Money Train Graphics And Gaming Experience
The Wild West theme is very popular in online slots, and this slot uses the theme to great effect. The graphics are excellent, and all the characters have intense expressions, giving the game a serious edge.
When players load the game, they see a desert with a Wild West town in the distance. Then, the scene jumps into the town with the train line in the foreground. From here, the action really begins. The Money Train pulls into the station, and the last carriage opens to reveal the reels.
The soundtrack to the Money Train slot machine fits well with the action and reminds us of classic spaghetti western films. It bounces along in the background and keeps the energy up in the game.
Relax Gaming makes sure that all its slots are optimised to work across all devices. Players should not experience any difference in the quality of the Money Train game, no matter if they play in the desktop or mobile version.
Money Train Bonus Features
The main feature of this game is the Money Cart bonus round. It grants Free Spins and has a number of components to it. If you hit the max win of 20,000x in the Money Cart feature the bonus round ends. This bonus feature is the only one in the game. Two shotguns form the Wild symbol, which can substitute for all paying symbols giving you a better chance at a winning combination.
The game does have a bonus buy feature. However, reputable online casinos in the UK do not make it available to UK players.
Money Train Free Spins
Players will trigger this round if they land three or more bonus symbols on reels one, three, and five. Three Free Spins are awarded when the round begins, and the bonus symbols turn over to reveal a multiplier amount. The Free Spins reset every time a new symbol lands. During the bonus round you will encounter these symbols:
- Bonus: It reveals a multiplication of the bet
- Collector: It reveals a multiplication of the bet, collects all the visible values on the screen, and adds it to its own value.
- Persistent Collector: This symbol has the same effect as the Collector but stays active until all the spins are complete.
- Payer: This is the female gunslinger symbol and reveals a multiplication that is applied to all the visible value symbols on the screen.
- Persistent Payer: The same function as the Payer but plays on until all spins are finished.
- Widener: The TNT expert symbol will reveal a multiplication of the bet and open a new reel. Up to two reels can be opened during the bonus round.

Summary of Money Train - Jump on the Train and Join the Gunslingers
The Money Cart bonus round is the feature that makes this slot stand out. A variety of symbols can multiply your winnings and increase the fun of the game. The Widener can add up to two extra reels, which can make getting a win a little more likely.
The Wild West theme is very well-executed, and the characters all have a menacing air, giving the game some drama. The soundtrack fits the theme and reflects the sound of a train passing over the tracks. The graphics are top-notch and make you feel like you are in the Wild West. The max payout of 20,000x your wager is pretty sweet and the game’s wide betting range of £0.10 to £50 per spin is attractive to many types of players.

Okay, so I’ve written reviews on all the other three Money Train series, leaving the original Money Train game for last. Why? Simply because this first game is much less complicated than the other three, is much easier to play, and is less confusing too. Before I forget, it also has a bigger play screen and with bigger icons, so it’s always much easier on my eyes and much easier to see what’s appearing on the screen. I don’t have to repeat myself but I hate small icons and symbols in any game!
After playing the other three games in the series, only now have I realised that certain extra features can only be activated by getting the right icons on the reels. The 6th and 7th reels, for example, need getting that special guy symbol each time for each additional reel, unlike in the later games whereby the additional reel can only be obtained by filling up one vertical column or reel each time.
Since the maximum win is only 20,000x, or so to say, so those big multipliers do not come as often, mostly coming in x1s, x2s and x3s, but occasionally the 10x multiplier do make its appearance. The much lesser number of special icons also reduces the chances of getting more or bigger winning combinations, but all that is okay with me. As long as the game can pay good wins of over 200x or more, I’d be more than happy with it. Honestly speaking, the bigger and higher the maximum possible win is, the harder and tougher it becomes to get good wins! I don’t like that at all – give me more frequent smaller wins and I’d be happy enough, hahaha.
Is there anything that I don’t like in this original Money Train game? Yes, there is one...it is still damn hard to trigger the Bonus game, and the game do still has a high volatility, although lower than the later games in the series. Nonetheless, this is one good game worth playing regularly, but as usual, you certainly need good luck to get those nice big wins!
