For a start, the theme of this slot is based on the ancient Mayan culture and, on it, they are shown characteristic objects of this civilization such as hieroglyphics, gold statuettes, pyramids and even one of the alleged 13 enigmatic crystal skulls found in Central American territory.
I think “Saucify” has chosen a rather exciting topic for the theme of this slot, however, this has seemed a slot with a rather weak base game to me since the only interesting payouts established on the paytable correspond to lines of 5 of a kind made with the symbols of crystal skull, gold statuette, and stone statue; payments for lines of 4 of a kind or less are not really attractive, and payouts coming from lines made with other symbols, just seem insignificant; and believe me, it is not easy at all to form a line of 5 of a kind with the 3 highest paid symbols of the game.
During my session with this slot I could never unleash a single round of free spins, and as for the “Liquid Gold” feature, I have to say that I extinguished all of my credits before I could even get 4 “Gold Orbs” of 10 needed to activate this latter feature, and make it clear that I started betting only one coin of $0.01 per spin and went raising up my bet very, very slowly.
I know that wins during free spins are tripled and guess the bonus round has to be very lucrative, but this is something that I am not really aware and what I personally could experiment is that payouts for the base game they are usually quite poor, even during a lot of spins I could never achieve to form a single line of 3 of a kind with the symbol of crystal skull.
In my opinion, “City of Gold” is simply one of those video slots that I usually avoid at all costs; I respect all opinions contrary to mine, so simply, my only suggestion is to have a little caution when you risk your money on it.
