To partake in their 10th Annual Conference, "Taking action to tackle gambling harms as a public health issue," GambleAware is encouraging people to submit proposals.
Fighting for the Good Cause
GambleAware, the top organisation protecting people from the negative effects of gambling, is encouraging individuals, groups, and networks to submit a proposal to present or contribute at their annual conference on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
This year's conference subject is "Taking action to fight gambling harms as a public health issue." It will focus on issues of stigma and disparities in the context of public health.
GambleAware aims to develop an engaging and diverse agenda by letting others contribute to its development and share what they've learned with a wide range of audiences.
Hearing the People Out
To accomplish this, the organisation is eager to highlight contributors and voices from various research, prevention, and treatment sectors, as well as voices from communities who have suffered harm from gambling. This will allow the audience to learn more about the broad spectrum of work being done to lessen the adverse effects of gambling in Great Britain.
Candidates are invited to research a variety of subjects that relate to the broad theme of public health, such as:
- Stigma
- Inequalities
- Cost of living crisis
- Population health
- Regulation
There aren't many speaking chances available, but some extra exhibition space will be made available for poster presentations for those of the bidders who weren't selected to speak.
An external panel of experts and an eligibility panel will evaluate each submission. Submissions must be received by Friday, August 12, 2022.
