UEFA Euro 2024 has concluded with the final match between Spain and England where Spain came out victorious.
After 90 minutes of regular time, the final result was 2-1 for Spain after the deciding goal by Mikel Oyarzabal in the 86th minute of the match. This is the record-breaking fourth time Spain became the European football champion.
Tournament for The Record Books
But, Spain also broke another record - it was the only team to have won all seven games it played, with a total of 15 goals scored, which is also the best score for the national team.
The award for the Best Player of Euro 2024 went to Rodrigo Hernández, Spanish midfielder. Although he has only scored one goal during the tournament (against Georgia), he's been lauded as the vital component of the Spanish team.
His young teammate, Lamine Yamal, was awarded the title of the Best Young Player of Euro 2024. The 17-year-old FC Barcelona player proved to be key in the semifinals match against France and has also scored the most assistances.
