The SiGMA Conference is widely regarded as the epicentre of the international gambling industry, with its attendees travelling from all over the world to hear thought-provoking speakers, make valuable connections, learn about the latest innovations in the industry, and have a blast.
This year, it's happening in Belgrade, Serbia, with the AskGamblers' account team attending in full glory.
We spoke to Milica Kasapović, the AskGamblers Key Account Manager and a veteran in the iGaming industry, to hear more about her expectations of the event.
Milica, hi! Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk to us. How has it been? Are you excited about SiGMA? It's in just a few days!
Thank you so much for having me! It's my pleasure to try to answer your questions about the upcoming SiGMA event. We are super excited to have a conference in our city and for the opportunity to welcome partners here.
It's a big year for Belgrade, we'd say. At least in terms of the iGaming events.
First, we had the 5th AskGamblers Awards ceremony, and now, SiGMA is coming to our capital just a few months after. Would you say this is a big stepping stone for the country and the local iGaming community?
Yes, Belgrade is now clearly positioned on the iGaming map. It's a massive step for our local iGaming community to show knowledge and experience hidden for years. There are a lot of opportunities for companies to extend their business to the Balkans region, and Belgarde is a natural choice to start. SiGMA, as one of the industry's biggest shows, is the perfect way to start and introduce iGaming to the locals and to help to learn and grow.
What are your expectations of SiGMA? Are there any notable names you are excited to network with?
Well, as I mentioned before, I am very excited to be part of this show, and I am sure they will do a marvellous job and host another fantastic conference. Many partners are coming, and my team and I have scheduled numerous meetings. We are also excited to meet some new potential partners that Sigma will join in Belgrade.
What panels are you most excited about?
This is easy; my dear colleague Dijana Radunovic will participate on the second day in a panel named: "What does the future look like for affiliates in the iGaming industry?".
The panel will be valuable for operators and affiliates, newcomers in veterans alike. On the first day, I'll participate as a judge in SiGMA Startup - please come join this panel and find out what new ideas are up there!
Serbia recently launched a New Gambling Act, creating a well-regulated land-based and iGaming sector in Serbia. What are your thoughts on this advancement?
This is something that we were waiting for many years, it will help in creating a more responsible, accountable, and well-regulated iGaming sector in Serbia. This will definitely help in building an igaming community in Serbia.
