LIKED
Winning Wizards, yet another 5-paylines game from Microgaming, that pays both ways, left to right and right to left, but is actually a game that requires a lot but gives out a little. In what sense? In requiring a lot of money to start playing the game, which is set at a minimum bet of $1.25 per spin, but giving out little small wins in return. Yes, looking at that Wizard symbol, it can pay 10,000x the line bet for getting 5 of them, but in all my years of playing Microgaming games, which is now more than 10 years, not once have I ever won a 5 Wilds win, not the high-paying kind that is! Those cheap Wilds can come but seldomly, never frequently of course, and they would pay not more than 50x the total bet amount! So don't ever put your hopes in getting such any 5-Wilds win. Just like me, you'll probably end up chasing a wild goose.
In this Winning Wizards game, that Wizard is smiling cynically at you and me, but you probably won't ever notice that, until I tell you. It pays 10,000x the line bet for getting 5 of them, if you ever can get them, and is a dumb Wild symbol. It doesn't double any wins with it, it doesn't become stacked or expanded, and only does substitution for all other symbols. Yep, all other symbols, because there aren't any Scatter or Bonus symbols in the game, and there aren't any Free Spins game either. Exactly the kind of game I hate most. The Claw pays 5000x, the Book pays 2500x, the Ball pays 1500x, the Ring pays 1000x, and the rest pay from 500x to 100x, all per line bet for getting 5 of each kind. A good paytable, but only when it pays.
DISLIKED
At $1.25 bet per spin, I wouldn't ever make a big deposit just to try this game out. No way, knowing how difficult it would be get a win from just 5 paylines. I set myself to give this Winning Wizards game only 15 spins in trying it out for the very first time. Win or lose, I will quit, I told myself. Well, it didn't take long at all for a loss to happen. The first 6 spins were totally useless empty non-paying ones, then one spin paid a little bit, followed by 3 more empty blank spins, another spin paid a bit, and nothing more after that. Exactly after 15 spins, I quit playing the game, with nothing to show except for some smoke coming out of my ears. Another ridiculous game from Microgaming for me.
