Head back to the Wild West and collect some gold badges from the sheriff, and you might be rewarded handsomely! This is an adventure you can get from the Wild West Gold slot. If you’re curious about what the Wild West offers, here’s a complete Wild West Gold slot review.
Online slots with the Wild West theme aren’t new in the market. However, the Wild West Gold slot machine provides distinctive features that can be appealing to many. What we love the most about the game is the Wild. The feature stays true to its name and the Wild symbol is the primary attraction that will enhance players’ winning. The Wilds appeared multiple times during our trial session and were very helpful in hitting winning combinations.
Overview of Wild West Gold Game
The Wild West Gold is a western-themed slot from Pragmatic Play. The game offers 5x4 reels with 40 paylines.
The game uses an old-western storyline that involves iconic symbols like a sheriff, outlaw, cowgirl, and saloon girl. Besides the characters, the reels will include regular slot symbols like the playing card symbols of 10, J, Q, K, and A. You’ll also find bags full of dazzling gold coins and old gun models akin to the Western movie scenes.
Although it isn’t rare to find video slots using Wilds as their main attraction, the Wild West Gold slot machine ensures the feature is significantly helpful for players. Besides the distinctive Wilds, Pragmatic Play can’t skip giving the game the much-loved Free Spins feature.
Wild West Gold RTP, Payout and Volatility
The Wild West Gold RTP is 96.51%, and Pragmatic Play labels the game as highly volatile.
The card playing symbols act as the lower-paying ones. You can get 0.1x to 1.5x your bet through these symbol combinations. The Western themed symbols are the higher paying ones and can reward 0.25x to 20x your bet per spin.
You can bet from £0.20 to £100 for one spin and the max win in the Wild West Gold game is 10,000x your stake.
Wild West Gold Graphics and Gaming Experience
Western-themed slots featured in our online slots reviews have similar graphics designs, including the Wild West Gold slot machine. The background makes the reels look like it’s placed right in the middle of a town in the Wild West with a dirt road and wooden buildings on the side.
What we love about the design are the symbols. Although the card playing symbols are standard symbols, they’re designed with a wood texture, making them look like well-cut planks. The characters’ faces are drawn in detail as well.
Players can get relaxing gameplay from the saloon type music as the slot’s soundtrack. They’re soft yet still slightly upbeat.
Wild West Gold Bonus Features
We’ve mentioned that the Wilds in the Wild West Gold game work slightly differently than others. They can land on reels two, three, and four while carrying 2x, 3x, or 5x multipliers. When the Wilds complete a winning combination, the Wilds multiply the payout accordingly. If more than one Wild is completing a combination, the Wilds’ multiplier values will be added together.
The other special symbol is the picture of the setting sun. It acts as the Scatter and triggers the Free Spins feature.
Wild West Gold Free Spins
Scatters only appear on reels one, three, and five. When three or more Scatters land on the reels, you are awarded Free Spins.
You’ll receive eight starting Free Spins. You can also get additional Free Spins while the feature is active. Some symbols might come with a golden badge overlay. Two or more overlays can give players extra spins from four to 20 spins depending on the number of badges. You can keep getting Free Spins but they end if you get the max win of 10,000x your stake.
Wilds will appear on the free games with a multiplier, but the multiplier’s value will be hidden. Only when the symbol completes a winning combination will the multiplier show. The good news is all landing Wilds turn sticky until the end of the Free Spins.
The Free Spins feature guarantees a win of 10x your active bet. If you receive below 10x in the Free Spins Round, you’ll still get 10x as a reward.
If this is your first time checking out the game, it is a good idea to take advantage of the Wild West Gold slot demo on our site, so you can get accustomed to the features.

Summary of Wild West Gold - Earning The Gold Badges for Free Spins
The Western theme is common, but the Wild West Gold slot machine gives many attractive features that can make you fall in love with the storyline again. The Wild on the game’s title isn’t just to show that it uses a Western theme, but it stands for the primary feature, the multiplier Wild.
Although the Free Spins mechanisms are also more complex than other titles, the multiplier Wilds were the hero of our session. They kept landing on the right payline and helped us make many successful combinations. Still, the Free Spins are intriguing with the gold badge symbols in play.
If you want to visit the Wild West and collect the gold, we recommend you try the Wild West Gold slot demo! Experience the adventure firsthand, collect your gold badges, and see if you can make the sheriff reward you with the coins.
Wild West Gold is a western themed game from Pragmatic Play that was released around 2 years ago. I remember trying it out in some Video Slots battles and did enjoy it, but it never really stuck with me. So even today, it's a game I don't mind playing for a quick bonus round (in this case, with buying the bonus for 100x my bet) and then move on. And the reason for it is a really simple one- I find the base game to be quite boring.
The game has Wild West theme and has 5 reels and 40 paylines, hence you can bet as little as 20 cents. In the base game you can see stacked symbols and wilds with different multipliers. I've had a few nice base game hits due to combinations with wilds, as they can have up to 5x multiplier. But I haven't had any major wins, aside from a few 100x bet stake wins.
Other than that, there's only one bonus feature which is the free spins round. To trigger it, you need to land scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 or alternatively you can buy the bonus for 100x your bet, which is usually the way I go with this game. Then you get 8 free spins and whenever wilds land, they will stay on the reels until the end of the bonus. I do think that it's an entertaining feature and really reminds me of the Dog House game.
However, if you get sheriff stars attached on at least 2 of the symbols, you'll get extra free spins. I can say that getting the extra spins isn't too hard as the sheriff stars land quite frequently, also I like the fact that you need to get only 2 sheriff stars on the same spin for the extra spins. And from my experience, these extra spins can be quite crucial- if you have a good combination of wilds on the reels, every extra spin can pay big. That being said, it's also important to get the wilds on a payline- I've had times when I have a wild on all middle reels but not on a payline, which then pays close to nothing. However, I have had a few times when I have wilds on a payline and a premium symbol on reel 1- and my best win so far has been around 400x bet. But it's definitely a very volatile bonus feature as most of the time it wouldn't even give a 50x bet return.
Having said that, while I like the bonus feature, I find the game overall unexciting. Other than the wild symbols, base game doesn't have anything to offer and the bonus round can be very volatile. I do play it once in a while but it's definitely not in my Pragmatic Play top list.
