Wild spells is a reskin of the game 3 kingdoms battle of the red cliffs also by the same provider Pragmatic Play. The slot is magic themed and is a 5 reel, 3 row slot with 25 fixed pay lines. The slot grid is placed in mystical mountains and the slot has great graphics. Every time you get a hit with the witches the graphics are enhanced and you get great animations.
The slot just like 3 kingdom is low volatile and all the symbols pay between 1x to 8x. Card symbols 9, 10, J and Q all pay 1.2x on hits of five of a kind. K and A symbol pays 1.6x. Candle, magic potion and a book of spells all pay 2.4x. The witches’ symbols are green, blue and orange and it pays 4x, 5x and 8x. The cat symbol is wild and it only appears rom reel 2 to 5. All wins pay left to right and three scatter symbols which is a crystal ball triggers the bonus if it lands on reel 1,3 and 5. During the bonus feature you get to choose from 3 options to play your bonus. The first option is where you get 20 free spin and, in this bonus, the green Witch turns wild on reels 2,3, 4 and 5. The second option gives you 10 free spins and witches blue and green turn wild on reels 2, 3. 4 and 5. The last option gives you 5 free spins and all witches turn wild on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. The feature can retrigger multiple times. The slot also has a jackpot feature where if the reels are filled with full stack of any witch, it gives you a jackpot win. I really loved playing this slot as it's just like 3 kingdoms but better since it has a Jackpot feature. The bonuses are regular and you can get almost 10 to 6 bonuses in under 1000 spins. I always go for the 5-spin option and it pays between 10x to 70x.

I really don’t know why some Pragmatic Play games can be good to me whilst most others would treat me like a piece of meat for their lunch or dinner! Take this Wild Spells game for example – in one of my play sessions, I managed to get retriggers for up to 40 free spins, yet the final payout was only 50x my staked amount, which was very disappointing indeed! Usually, 40 free spins could easily pay 100x or more, so I can only say that Wild Spells simply isn’t good for me, hahaha.

If you’re still wondering “how come?”, let me elaborate for you. First of all, the paytable and the win values of all the symbols in this game are extremely low! The top symbol pays only 8x the total bet for getting 5 of them, the Wild and the Scatter symbols are both non-paying, and worst of all, there are no win multipliers at all to boost up the wins! Sheesh! Why so? Blame it on the 3 Jackpot Prizes – the Minor at 50x, the Major at 200x, and the Grand at 1250x. With these 3 additional prizes up for grabs, wins in the base game as well as in the free spins can only be mediocre. Yes, the Minor Jackpot prize can be won quite easily (I got it twice so far), but the other two bigger prizes would need tons of better luck to get them! Hehehe.

Then there’s also the 3 modes of free spins, but all are without any win multipliers, so don’t count on getting many big wins from them, unless you get really lucky and land many of those Expanding Wilds in the right positions. Nonetheless, getting all 5 Wild Reels of the top symbol (Fire Goddess) would only pay 200x the total bet, and that is way below anyone’s good expectations! I’d be cursing and swearing if that happens to me, but I’d still be happy to win it of course, hahaha. Anyway, you can pick whichever Goddess you want to play with, either with 20, 10 or just 5 free spins, and hope to get a decent win. Most of the time, you won’t get it, hehehe.

Wild Spells is a slot I actually discovered last year when I had received some free spins on Videoslots on it. I tried it and really enjoyed the game play and it's been one of the rare games from Pragmatic Play that I play from time to time.

So as I already mentioned, the game is powered by Pragmatic Play game provider. It has a very cool design in my opinion and a witchy theme which I'm a big fan of. There are 3 main characters- all of them beautiful witches that stand for earth, water and fire, as far as I can tell from the color scheme. The game itself has jackpots that are depending on your bet size- 50x, 200x and over 1000x bet win. And technically it has 5 reels and 25 paylines as well as a free spins bonus round.

The reason why I like this game is quite simple - it has great winning potential. On base game and on free spins any of the high paying symbols can come up stacked as well as wilds can be stacked and therefore in my experience it's not difficult to get frequent 50x bet winnings. When it comes to winning jackpots, I've got the 50x bet jackpot several times and again, it's a nice boost.

Speaking of the bonus round, when you get 3 scatter symbols you can choose your free spins feature. I believe those options reflect the lowest volatility to the highest one, as you can pick 20 free spins, 10 or 5 with different feature. I usually go with the Fire spins or Water spins which are 5 and 10 spins as they have given me the best result. The Water spins will give 10 spins with no multiplier but the green and blue girl symbols from reels 2 to 5 will become wilds. It really helps to get small "big wins" on nearly every spin and it's also possible to retrigger the feature. The fire spins are more volatile but turn all the girl symbols into wilds from reels 2-5 but in my experience, it can also result in 5 dead spins.

Overall this is a very intriguing game and I enjoy playing it not only due to its' design but also for the fact that it has the potential to give many decent wins. I've had a few wins in the past exceeding 100x bet but not much more, therefore I think that achieving 1000x bet could be very difficult. But for a low-roller like me, this is a good game to play when wagering bonuses or trying to boost balance with not that much risk, as I've never had big losses on the game.
