Calling it their best selling game in history, Yggdrasil released Vikings go Bezerk a while ago and I have played it extensively. I have played thousands and thousands spins on it and have made some big wins on it.

It's a 5 reel 25 lines slot with coins for the low prizes and Vikings for the higher ones, the Vikings fill their respective meters as you win with them, and once filled it goes in bezerk mode meaning you get 7 freespins and every Viking in that color turns automatically into a wild, But before that, there's a whole lot of other stuf that you can get.
At first, the freespins, you get 7 when you get 3 scatters or 14 when you get 4, I haven't seen 5 scatters ever, but my guess it is possible.

When you win them a gadget turns up and gives you an extra, that can be extra chests, 1 or 2 extra free spins, 1 or 2 extra wilds, a wild reel or when you are really lucky, Bezerk mode where every Viking in sight turns into a wild.
The last mode of course almost never comes, but when it comes it's kaboom as you will have big win after big win once a lot of wilds are in place, I have had them sometimes, but sparsely, most of the time it's freespins where the Vikings can turn wild but a lot of the times fail to do so.

Besides freespins and mentioned above, you can have a chest falling in sight and the one on the 4th reel gives the smaller prices, variating between 50 until 250 coins, sometimes, higher up to a 1000 coins, 7 freespins or even 14 freespins, thing is, you have to choose between 5 picks, and of course the frustration level gets higher and higher every time you "choose" the wrong pick.

The chest on the 5th reel is bigger and so are it's prizes, in coins variating between 200 and 1500 coins, but you also can gain extra points on the Viking meters often resulting in Bezerk mode or Bezerk mode at all which of course is again the best you can get.

So that's about the game itself, the idea, graphics, gameplay and music are extremely high quality (therefor 2 stars) as expected from Yggdrasil and if you have nothing to lose it's a really good slot to play, but....

As I said, I have played thousands of spins on Vikings go Bezerk and have had almost every feature, from 50 coins from a chest to plain Bezerk mode where everything went crazy, thing is, you'll lose everything you have, and I'm not exaggerating, everything.

Freespins, Bezerk mode, filled meters, yes you'll get them, in the end, and that's no lie, if you start with this game you can expect some nice winnings, 40 coins, 12 coins, 125 coins and it looks like it's ready to blow, then, it's going down, faster then you'll drop from the empire state building, faster then you have ever seen a slot go down, with almost no winnings or just small ones, once in a while a chest that gives you next to nothing and some times, very rarely, freespins that can do some good but most of the time are as disappointing as the rest of the game is solely build to make you lose big time.
Lost a small fortune? Around a small car, that kind of money? Then suddenly there's movement, things start to happen, the meters fill, the chests grow and the wins get bigger, so you start hoping again the slot finally starts to do what it should do, represent the 96% RTP as claimed with Yggdrasil, but no, it's just a brief moment of luck before everything goes south again and you feel angry as the Viking meters finally are filled and go in Bezerk mode, now here's a thing, if you play 2,5€ a spin or even 4€ a spin you'd expect that in Bezerk mode the coins are the same value, but no, they get an average value most of the time half what you have played the whole time so even when you have very large wins, it is never enough to get you even close to what you started with.

My advice, play on 0,50ct if you want to try then run away and never ever touch this slotmachine again.

Like most other Yggdrasil fans I was excitedly awaiting the release of this game, a follow up to one of their most popular early games entitled "Vikings Go Wild". Visually the two games are extremely similar, and in fact I would say this is more of an updated and refined version as opposed to a true sequel. Presentation is top notch as with all other Yggdrasil games, and the 25 fixed paylines and typical five by three reel layout add up to the type of game that any slots player will be instantly familiar with.

Sticky wilds are one of my favourite features in any slot, although when they are difficult to hit it can of course be very frustrating! In this game the sticky wild free spins feature gives you seven spins, but on the other hand the wilds do seem to drop in much more frequently than in games such as NetEnt's Dead or Alive. I'm not sure the balance is quite right, but I have only hit the feature around ten times so far so perhaps I haven't given it enough of a chance yet! There's no question this can be a profitable bonus though, although perhaps not quite on the scale of the sticky wilds feature in DoA.

The payouts are perhaps my only issue with this game, but then that is actually quite a major complaint after all! The maximum hit from a single spin is just too low for my liking at 450x your stake, and whilst it is possible to hit a few of these in a row (theoretically, at least!) the short duration of the free spins makes it unlikely you will achieve 1,000x bet or higher very often. This isn't a poor paying game though and I have had several hits over 100x my bet in my first few days of playing it, so I do recommend this game. It's just not quite as exciting as I had hoped for, I guess my enjoyment of the first game built my anticipation for this one a little too much!

There is another feature called “Treasure Chest” that happens only on reel 4 and which awards one of the several prizes such as instant cash and free spins among others; this feature happens more regularly than the others previously mentioned.

Personally, I think that this slot requires we have a large capital that allows us to sustain our balance enough to start to trigger the “Rage” feature with each of the 4 Vikings; not to be able to access this feature means depriving us of the best opportunity that gives us this game to win some money.

As far as I am concerned, I have not yet completed the progress bar of the Vikings, and I have clearly not been able to make any profit from this game either; even so, I think “Vikings Go Berzerk” is a totally interesting video slot and it is probable that some other day I will return to engage in battle with these rude warriors.

I think free spins are interesting because you can get some additional awarded bonus during free games: all Vikings are Berzerk mode, 1 sticky wild in a random position, a wild reel, 1-3 extra free spins or 5 extra treasure chest.

When I triggered free spins feature I got 1 sticky wild in a random position. The payouts are not so big as I expected for wilds, this game dissapointed me a little bit. Otherwise it is fun to play it sometimes, it could provide some good winnings over x100 bet. Maybe I will play it again in near future when I will have a good balance.
