PlaynGo fans would certainly be very familiar with games like this Troll Hunters, although personally, I’m not very keen on such games, but I do still give them some plays on and off. Not with Troll Hunters though – I have only played it perhaps on two occasions before, but not liking it one bit, simply because my luck on such games have never been any good, except for one such game – Reactoonz.

Troll Hunters play more like Golden Ticket, a cluster of 5 same symbols making a win, with hidden Bonus lines behind the reels of symbols, but without any special features as in other similar games like Moon Princess, for example, except for a Bonus Rounds (free spins) feature game. The initial 10 Bonus Rounds can be retriggered, up to a maximum of 20 Rounds, which really isn’t a lot, if I may say so, which isn’t to my liking. I don’t really know how high the win multiplier can be, as I only got up to the 5x multiplier so far, but I guess this may well go above 10x, or maybe more.

Clearing all the symbols on the grid would award a nice 1000x win, getting 5 Wild symbols would pay 500x, but all the other symbols have rather low win values of 25x downwards, except during the Bonus Rounds whereby up to 10 same symbols can be won at a time, with win values of 175x downwards. Nonetheless, I wouldn’t say that the paytable is good, perhaps more like being average during the Bonus Rounds, but quite low during the base game. I was lucky enough to get a decent 131x win in the base game, then I made my way out very soon after! Hehehe.

Troll Hunters is a very unique game from Play `N Go when it comes to the number of reels and rows. I am used to playing games with 5 reels and 3 rows and this one has 5 reels and 5 rows. At first look this game seems very complex, but once you start playing you can see that it is very simple.

The first time and the only time I played this game I got 62.50 euros win before I activated the bonus. I got 10 bonus rounds where 5 or more symbols count as a win. There are some special effects during the feature. Namely all symbols are made of ice and every time there is a winning combination the ice on those symbols break. I loved that the sound of cracking of the ice. I got only 20 x bet from the free spins only. I could definitely continue playing the game now. The greatest thing was that this was at the beginning of my session.

The main characters in the Troll Hunters video slot game are the Viking ladies whose only job is to hunt the trolls. There is only one important symbol in this game and that is the wild which is the golden rune symbol and it is used to substitute for all the other symbols and it is also paid on its own.

A very exciting theme at that because the graphics are better than Golden Ticket and Energoonz. Troll Hunters follows the 5x5 reels format and the minimum bet is only 20 cents. It’s one of those addicting games of which you just can’t get enough.

I had many sessions where I included Troll Hunters in my play. This usually is the case when I have a small bankroll and want a long playtime. This doesn’t however mean that this is a low variance slot because it has the ability to pay out a monster as well.

So it really can go both ways. Final conclusion: wonderful slot with a different gameplay than we're used to but yet so creative and enjoyable.

The design of this game is inspired by ancient Norse warriors put on an icy landscape, images and the overall presentation of the game reveals a very professional work, the only controversial aspect of this slot are the lowest rates specified on its paytable, however you need to keep in mind that during the same turn several gains may occur, generating payouts above the average.

Now, for my part I really enjoyed playing this slot, I think it fits well within my taste, and as for profits I think they have been small compared to the time I've put into this slot, but this is preferable than losing. I think it would be advisable that players test this game with little capital, or on demo prior to putting their money at risk, thus everyone can decide whether this slot fits well into their game or not.
