Tomb Raider Slot Microgaming

Tomb Raider is a 15-payline video slot running on the Microgaming software platform, designed after the famous video game. The Tomb Raider Logo is the wild card, the Lara Croft symbol is the scatter and the Idol symbol is the Bonus card. Players can try the slot on this page for free or pick any of the Microgaming casinos from the listings to play the game for real money.

To join Lara Croft on her thrilling quest, players should first adjust their bet. To change the coin denomination, ranging from 0.05 to 5, players need to press +/-. The number of paylines is altered with “Select Lines” and the number of coins wagered with “Select Coins”. To initiate the game, “Spin” needs to be pressed and “Bet Max” to play at the highest wager. To spin the reels multiple times uninterrupted, players can choose “Expert” and then “Autoplay”.

When 3 or more Lara Croft symbols emerge on the reels, 10 Free Spins are awarded. All wins in this round are tripled. Free Spins can be re-triggered, which happens when 3 or more scatters appear during the Free Spin round.

3 or more Bonus symbols on an active payline will lead to the Tomb Bonus round, wherein players need to choose between 12 idols. Each of the idols uncovers bonus winnings. If the round is activated by 3 idols, players can win from 36 up to 1500 Bonus points. If it is triggered by 4 idols, players can win between 48 and 2000 Bonus points. Finally, if it is activated by 5 idols, players can be awarded between 60 and 2500 Bonus points.

Tomb Raider, also known as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, which focuses on fictional British archaeologist Lara Croft, who travels around the world searching for lost artefacts and infiltrating dangerous tombs and ruins.

Microgaming’s ‘Tomb Raider’ video slot is among the very first of Microgaming’s slot titles, and this you will notice from its dated graphics and sounds. This slot featuring an archeological quest upon 15 Paylines/5 Reels. The Tomb Raider Logo, represents the Wild symbol while Lara Croft is the Scatter. Landing 3 or more Scatters in view the player is rewarded with 10 Free spins and a 3x Multiplier.

Lara Croft a.k.a Tomb Raider is an icon of Eidos Interactive. Whenever I see Eidos logo I think about Tomb Raider, the first game I ever played on my first older PC. At school, boys talking a lot about her and her big boobs, her ponytail and her guns.

One thing why Microgaming created this game, it's popularity among video gamers. That's very understandable.
I don't care about the negative reviews of this game, I love it and I still am. Maybe it's the nostalgic or maybe it's just the game itself, who knows. In my opinion, every game has it's potential and I've never had a constant bad experience with a certain game and therefore giving a game the lowest rating is not an option. This game has 15 paylines which means that the payouts have to be bigger than a video slot with more paylines. As a passionate gambler I notice these kinda things, especially on games from Microgaming and NetEnt.

Again, Tomb Raider is one of the oldest game of Microgaming and it is so popular they have released the sequel to attract players that there's more. I have played Tomb Raider more than 100 times, never gets old. Though I did played it at several casinos, some were bad game sessions and some were good sessions. We can't always win, right? I've never won any large sum but then again, you need to bet a higher stake in able to win a huge sum.

Tomb Raider is unforgettable but to be fair I have not played the game that often anymore, only now and then, just for killing time. I also don't expect to win. I do hope that Microgaming will make another Tomb Raider video slot since there's a new version of the video game is on the market with stunning graphics. A new Tomb Raider game could not only attracts the old school gamers but also the gamers of the new generation.

I actually expected some real movie cuts or at least a short animation of the game during the gameplay.

Lara Croft Tomb Raider, the game, would have been so much nicer if Angelina Jolie's portrait was used instead of the cartoon caricature. Well, yes, Microgaming would have to pay lots more for using her image, but should this really be the deciding factor? I don't think so, so I think Microgaming was only keeping down the costs, for better returns. If they could do it for the game Terminator 2, then they could have done it for Tomb Raider too. See what I mean? Okay, so it may be cheaper to use Arnold's images rather than Angelina's, but this isn't an acceptable excuse, not to me anyway.

The logo is the Wild symbol in the game, paying a nice 7500x the line bet for getting 5 of them. It is a dumb Wild symbol, for not doubling any wins with it, and for not becoming stacked or expanded, but it does substitute for other symbols except the Scatter and Bonus symbols. Lara Croft is the Scatter symbol, paying a very good 400x the total bet for getting 5 of them, and getting 3 or more of the Scatters trigger 10 free spins with all wins tripled. The Free Spins game can be retriggered. The Idol, or Statue, is the Bonus symbol, paying cash prizes of between 36x up to 2500x the line bet, depending on the number of Bonus symbols triggering the Bonus feature (3, 4 or 5). As for the other symbols, they pay from a low 500x to 75x the line bet for getting 5 of each kind. A good paytable nonetheless.

The Bonus game is one that's not my favourite. It's a pick-and-win feature, needing to pick either 3, 4 or 5 of the numerous Idols available to win cash prizes. I don't like the ratio of picking 3 out of 12 Idols. It's too little picks out of too many choices, thereby missing getting the best prizes most of the time. What disappoint me the most are the Free Spins games. They pay out very low most of the time. The Free Spins games that I had in my most recent play on the game paid only 21x and 29x my bet amount, without getting any retriggers, whilst the Bonus games paid between 8x to 18x, which were all far from being satisfactory. I've played this Tomb Raider many times already over the last 2 years, and about 95% of the payouts were all very low. Not a good game for me.
