The Codfather is video slot machine designed by NextGen Gaming software provider. It has 5 reels and 20 paylines. I tried to play this game only once and I did not like it very much. Maybe this is because I had no luck and I received only small winnings on it.

The base game was not so fun for me, I never had any big win during it. The Codfather offer bonus game and free spins feature. Big boss bonus game start when you had three wild symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4. I triggered this bonus game only once during my gameplay session. Here you have to choose one of the five bosses and you are award with cash prize. I think I won here around x30 bet.

The free spins feature is trigger by at least three or more scatter symbols. You get 10 free spins at x3 multiplier. I triggered this feature twice and both times I got only small winnings. Never more than x50 bet. I do not think this is really good feature, the multiplier should be at higher number. For me free games are not interesting enough and this is also the reason why I will not play it again.

Otherwise I like the music in this video slot machine. It relax me, but I do not like payouts so much. I expected bigger payouts like as at some other NextGen software games. I will rate this game with 6 stars.

The free spins feature should be more fun. I expected better multiplier here and even some additional mode during free spins. The bonus game is not so good, neither. You can pick only one boss and that's it. I would be more happy if I could select, pick more than just one boss here at this bonus game.

There is very low payouts in this slot game, for everything except scatters and 5 best paying symbols. I am not very like it, of course you could try to get 5 best symbols on a payline, but of course this is rare, and I like to have other payouts good, but here it is not possible. Wilds have 2x multiplier for all wins, but even 5 of a kinds with wilds pay low. Probably this is why Nextgen place on all their games gamble feature - to make players happy and give them a chance to increase winnings this way.

There are two features, one is bonus game, it can be achieved when 3 wilds appears on reels 2 3 4, and free games. Bonus game is interesting and could pay good, I won 100 bets there once even about 125 bets, and not sure if this max result possible in bonus game. Freespins is boring, 10 freegames with x 3 multiplier.

I never had huge wins on this game, but bonus game usually pays good for me. Something like 30 bets is almost guaranteed, and if you lucky you can increase this result.

I rate this game with 7 stars. It is a bit boring game, because payouts are too low. And I am not ready to play game a lot to get bonus game.

The movie Godfather was an inspiration to may slot games from various software providers. I was very happy to see a slot game with that name in the selection from NextGen. Still I knew there was something fishy when I saw that the name of the game is in fact Codfather and the main symbols of the game were mobster fish from the depths of the ocean. Still at first look this slot has a very funny and interesting design.

This is a 20 payine 5 reel slot with very funny symbols. You just have to smile at the idea of an underwater mob society with bosses and soldiers. The slot has a descent graphic and the symbols were meant to be funny and have a cartoon design. The music is really good and it reminds me of the original Godfather theme. The wild symbol who is a big boss can only land on reels 2, 3 and 4 and doubles every win. If you get 3 of them on the central reels, in addition to the nice win if they land on a winning payline, you will also trigger the Big Boss Bonus. This is basically a cash bonus. You have to choose one from 5 bosses who offers you a bribe in the form of a cash prize. The next bonus is a free spins bonus and is triggered when you get 3 or more scattered Codfather signs anywhere on the reels. You are awarded with 10 free games and all prizes tripled. This is a standard bonus to most NextGen slots.

Playing this slot can be a lot of fun. The wild symbols come often and provide medium wins. Sometimes you will get two wilds followed by 2 of the highest paying symbols resulting in a big win. It’s very evident that this game got its name after the epic movie of Godfather and it’s also suspected that this slot is more of a funny game than to try to illustrate the original theme with authentic pictorial elements so it’s no surprise that after opening the game to play we’re dropped in underwater world where we can play with gangster fishes. Though some of them are funny but I think if the creators wanted to be real humorous there should be more funny animations, cool symbols or more cheerful background image. So the appearance of the game is basically good but I miss something special and unique solutions and I feel that something more and more convincing could have been brought out of the theme than what we actually got here.

The game segment is also a very ordinary one which is not necessarily a bad thing but it’s true this is not from among what could make you really excited. The best prize is 5000 coins which can be achieved by collecting 5 Bosses symbols on an active payline but if we consider the power of the Codfather, Wild symbol to double the wins the grand prize is now 10.000 times of line bet which is absolutely not bad. Sadly, the Wild hasn’t got own paying ability and it can land only on the three middle reels but I can’t say I’m too satisfied with its appearing tendency on the reels. There are sequences when the Wild seems to never reveal itself on the screen and partly because of this the game often run into some longer streaks when not too much happens on the reels.

Unluckily, it also influences the bonus game in bad way as we have to have 3 Wilds on the inner reels to trigger the Big Boss bonus. It’s not a entertaining extra at all as it is a simple ‘Pick Me’ style side game and all we have to do here is to select one of the five Fish Bosses which reveals an instant cash prize.

The Scatter also shares this questionable quality and in my opinion the free spins much more times should be triggered by it. There were some occasions when I played with the game and I haven’t seen not even once as 3 or more Scatters appeared on anywhere on the reels at the same time and must have finished my play session without getting anything than minimal line wins (I suppose that was the reason that the mentioned playtimes weren’t last too long). Anyway, the 10 free spins (no matter how many Scatters activate the feature it consist of always 10 spins) are played with good x 3 win multiplier value but just like the entire game it’s also not a special part of the game at least I have never had too much luck with it and barely were times when I could real satisfied what the game rewarded me.

Partly because I’m forced to do it at this game and partly because I like this extra function but every time I play here I rely on Gambling features more and use it very frequently and sometimes I really need it (and of course the good predictions) to make a little profit what the base game and features can’t give me.

Overall, I don’t think it would be a good game and there are lot of areas where the game not just could but it should be improved to be considered as a reliable gambling partner. The winning tendency and the payout habits of winning combinations are barely average in best case but most of the times they are rather poor. The slot also can’t really entertain its customers and definitely lack of the ability of being excited and that’s why even if I find the original game idea great but I don’t think NextGen made a good job with this slot and I can’t really recommend this game to anyone.

I remember I gave this game a shot when I took advantage of a no deposit bonus. At first glance it seemed to have a lot to offer with two type of second-level features being advertised.

The goofy looking fishes used as symbols on this game also looked appealing enough for me to give it a shot. Codfather consists of 5-reels, 3-rows and 20-paylines. The minimum bet is only 20 cents, so that’s kind of perfect when you receive a 10 euro no deposit bonus.

It guarantees at least 50 to 100 spins if your RTP is higher than 50%. While the reels are spinning with a view on the deep sea, you will notice various special symbols. The two main symbols of this game however are the Codfather himself and the Codfather Logo symbol.

The Codfather symbol acts like a wild (and a 2x multiplier) and can only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. Once they all appear on those reels, then the Big Boss Bonus gets triggered. Here you have to pick one of the five bosses. The selected boss will subsequently offer you money in credits for peace.

I was expecting a lot of this feature, but while the loot kept being put on the table I didn’t win more than 10x bet. Then moments later I managed to trigger the feature again and then I won 15x bet. So that was rather awful. Not sure how much this feature is capable of paying, but it paid trash twice.
The other feature gets triggered when you get 3 or more Codfather Logo symbols on the reels.

You then win 10 free spins with a 3x multiplier. If you also take the 2x multiplier into account for wild wins, then you have a 6x multiplier at your disposal. Nevertheless, most of free spins were dead spins and I didn’t win more than 10x bet.

The base game also paid nothing noteworthy unfortunately. As you can guess that no deposit bonus didn’t last long, despite the fact that I managed to experience the feature rounds.
