Sunset Delight Slot Thunderkick

Sunset Delight Slot is an ice cream-themed 5-payline video slot, running on the Thunderkick software platform. The slot offers the incredible graphics solutions alongside five different flavoured scoops of ice cream as the main symbols. The game is the sequel to the 14-payline Sunny Scoops Slot. Players can try Sunset Delight Slot for free, or visit any of the listed Thunderkick Casinos to play for real money.

Before you discover some new ice cream flavours, you are advised to regulate your bets first. Use “Bet” to adjust your coin size, ranging from 0.10 to 100. The “Autoplay” option sets the reels in motion without interruption for a preset number of times. By clicking on “Spin” you will start the game.

The Sparkly Scoop with a blue letter W is the game’s Wild card. It may act as a substitute for all symbols but the Scatter, which is the Ice Cream Wafer. Land at least 3 Scatters anywhere on the reels simultaneously to trigger the 5 Free Spins Bonus game.

The Step/Spin symbol is the Bonus symbol which may occur on any of the regular symbols within a scoop, during the Bonus game. Upon landing, each of these symbols carries additional Free Spin or increases the multiplier by one. To be more precise, if you land the +1 Spin Bonus symbol, you will get an additional Free Spin, whereas if you land +1 Step Bonus symbol, your total bet multiplier will increase by 1.

With summer here in South Africa, there is nothing better than some sunny scoops on your cones. Just the cold and coolness down the throat making you survive one of those hot sunny days. A game by Thunderkick that has nice ice-cold ice cream dropping down on cones with 5 paylines and 3 reels. Minimum bet is $0.10 and the pay table is somewhat low however the maximum win from minimum bet is x75 your stake. For the base game that is low, but for the free spins feature that is okay, because you still get another build in feature during free spins to increase the winnings.

The slot has different type of ice cream symbols with bar being the highest paying symbol. The wild symbol is a nice white colourful ice cream but pays the same as the bar symbol. The game had a free spins feature and inside the free spins another feature with a multiplier.

The free spins are trigger when 3 or more wafer scatter symbols land on the ice cream similar like a flake inside the cone. You will be awarded with 5 free spins. During the feature you will also have a multiplier ladder. Look out for the Step/Spin symbol which is a scatter during the feature.
If it reads +1 Spin on it, you will get an additional free spin and it will increase the multiplier on the ladder. When the free spins end you will get your winnings, plus the multiplier x your total stake. The multiplier can reward up to x100 your total stake. I have reach that level a couple of times already.

I normally play this slot mostly during battle of the slots on videoslots casino. I play now and then real money but not often as the winning potential is not that great, but this slot can keep you entertained for a while.

Sunset Delight is another fun looking game, continuing Thunderkick's tradition of making their games look much more interesting than a typical set of symbols and reels. This time around they are using three ice cream cones to represent the games reel set, and I did wonder how that was going to work considering most three reel games are weighted classic slots rather than more modern style games. There are only seven possible "symbols" (more accurately "flavours" !) too, so I suspect that there might be some weighting going on behind the scenes in this game although I didn't notice anything unusual about the distribution of different symbols whilst I was playing it.

It's a quirky idea for a slot, but I definitely found it attractive and the animation is truly flawlessly smooth as with so many other games from this provider. The Scatter symbols work a little differently to normal, they are represented by a wafer which can appear stuck into any symbol which kind of reminds me of NetEnt's "Kings of Chicago" in a strange way. I did worry that needing three out of three scatters that were added completely at random might make the bonus difficult to trigger, but I actually found the opposite to be true and the feature seems to activate fairly often in this game.

I thought the game was being a little stingy when it announced I had won just five free spins on my first entry into the feature, but I needn't have worried - you almost always get at least a couple of extra spins awarded as the scatter wafers add additional spins any time they land during the free spins. Also, every scatter you collect increases a bonus wheel on the right side of the screen which adds an additional win to your final total at the end of the bonus all the way up to 100x your stake. Around 10-15x seems to be about average in my experience and I think you'd need an inordinate amount of luck to get all the way to the maximum 100x but this feature certainly adds a little extra spark to what is otherwise a fairly typical free spins feature.

This certainly isn't my favourite Thunderkick title, but it's a solid effort and I'm pleased they decided to include a free spins feature in this one.

Considering the three reels and five paylines the paytable seems extremely tight, even when you consider it should be quite often you see a full screen of the same symbol. I could be wrong but I count the maximum full screen of one symbol win as just 75x your stake and that's just not very exciting for me!

Sunset Delight is one of the latest games to be released by Thunderkick, appearing at about the same time as Zoom, Spectra and Babushkas, all from Thunderkick too. Being a fan ever since Thunderkick came online, I have played all their games numerous of times, so much so that I can easily recognise any of Thunderkick's new game just by sight. They have that special look in their graphical presentations, a trait combining 8-bit and 16-bit graphics with 3D renditions. Thunderkick's games look simple yet pleasing.

If you have played Sunny Scoops before, then this Sunset Delight is more like a serial to that, an updated and modified version of Sunny Scoops. It still plays with just 3 reels, or 3 cones of ice-cream to be precise, but the paylines have been changed to just 5, as opposed to the 14 paylines of Sunny Scoops. Why this has to be so, I cannot figure out, because the chances of winning have now been greatly reduced. If that is not bad enough, the Free Spins game too have been reduced to just 5 free spins from Sunny Scoops' 10 free spins, and these two changes do make a big difference between the two gameplays!

The Wild symbol is the ice-cream with the 'W' on it, and 5 of them pay 15x the total bet. It doesn't doubles any wins but substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter symbol. The Wafer on the ice-cream is the Scatter symbol but doesn't pay anything for itself. Damn! That makes it a dumb symbol, just as with the Wild symbol too. The ice-cream with the wording 'Bar' on it pays 15x the total bet, with the number '7' on it pays 10x the total bet, whilst the other ice-creams pay 5x to 1x the total bet for 5 of each kind. A very low paytable indeed, and isn't to my liking at all.

Getting 3 Wafer symbols, the Scatter symbols, trigger 5 free spins without any extra multiplier. Each Scatter appearing during the free spins awards 1 more free spin and increases the Bet Multiplier meter by 1 step. This Bet Multiplier is shown as a rotating wheel to the right of the play area, with a maximum win of 100x the total bet amount, but doesn't apply to the wins during the free spins. What a big waste of good winning chances. Multiplying the wins too would make Sunset Delight a truly delightful game to play and to win from! Too bad this isn't so. Maybe it is high time for Thunderkick to get off the 'safe' zone and start venturing into the 'dangerous' zones. Like Nick Jonas of DNCE said in his song..."you're moving so carefully...let's start living dangerously". Hmm, I wonder if Thunderkick can be 'man' enough to do so! Hehehe.

I usually enjoy playing Thunderkick games, Sunny Scoops included. With Sunset Delight, my initial excitement soon became dreary and weary. Too many empty spins, too many very small wins, too little number of free spins, but worst of all, getting that 100x multiplier does not include the wins from the free spins. It should have, to make this new game a real blaster and a true delight. All that Sunset Delight is right now is more of a Slip-up Delight! Damn!
