Perhaps it was based on Starburst, but with a different game concept, because the win values of all the symbols in Strolling Staxx are very similar indeed. However, this game utilises a bit of other game features too, so the gameplay is a little more interesting than Starburst.

Firstly, Strolling Staxx has an additional feature called the Bonus Bet. Activate this feature to get extra chances of getting the Colossal symbols, the Wild symbol included, during both the base game and free spins play, at 50% extra cost. Starting with 0.15 bets instead of the 0.10 isn’t that bad really, for more winning chances, but whether it is worth using it all the time, is a matter of personal preferences.

Whenever one or more fully stacked symbols land on the reels, the Strolling Staxx Respin is activated – the same symbols become sticky and moves 1 position to the left with each spin, ala the Walking Wild feature of Jack And The Beanstalk. Any symbol can land as 2x2 or 3x3 size, thereby creating more chances on the reels, especially with those 3x3 Colossal symbols. I do like this feature.

Having said all that, I must admit that getting decent wins from this game may be stressful at times, with plenty of empty spins (I counted 23 spins so far), and plenty of very insignificant small wins of less than the bet amount! Not only that, the Wild symbol hardly ever made its appearance on the reels, which is a great disappointment, so it becomes a little redundant, except when appearing as a Colossal Wild symbol, which I have not seen or gotten as yet. Yeah, it is bound to come sooner or later, no doubt about that, but when? That’s the big-win question!

Nonetheless, my few plays on Strolling Staxx went not too badly, managing to get a 178x win so far, but I have yet to see any nice big win ala Starburst with its 3 Wild Reels. Yep, definitely needs many more plays on this game to see such a nice win, but for me, thanks, but no thanks! Hehehe.
