No game provider can ever escape from creating a game based on the classical fruit game. It may be old in concept, but is rather popular with players, even after all these years, and even with the availability of numerous other clone games. Personally, I'm not into this sort of game very much, but I always give them a try or two, just to see for myself how such games would play and pay.

This Storming Flame from GameArt is a straightforward no-thrills game, without any Wild symbols and without any Free Spins game. There is a Scatter symbol, the Star, which pays 50x the total bet for getting 5 of them, but that's all that it does. Playing with only 5 paylines, it's purely a matter of hit or miss, so don't be alarmed when lots of the spins do come in empty!

However, if you look at the paytable, you'll see that this game can indeed pay well! Getting 5 of the top symbol, the '7', would pay a wonderful 1000x total bet win! The Bells, the next highest paying symbol, would pay 200x, whilst the lower fruit symbols would pay either 40x or 20x the total bet amount for getting any 5 of them. That is a pretty good paytable, and getting some decent wins shouldn't be that difficult, unless you happen to be having bad luck when playing this game.

Honestly speaking, this was my first ever play on Storming Flame, as I haven't been playing any of GameArt games until very recently, but I still managed to get a decent 60x win. That came when I got 3 reels of the Plum symbols, which paid 3x extra, or multiplied 3x to be more precise. Getting 4 reels would pay 4x, and getting all 5 reels of any same symbol would pay 5x! As I have said before, this isn't my kind of game, so I wasn't chasing for any bigger wins. With that one single 60x total bet win, I then switched over to play another one of the many still untried GameArt's games.

However, I wish to point out that getting all 15 of the '7' symbols would pay an incredible 25,000x total bet win (1000x total bet x5 paylines x5 multiplier), but I really wonder if this is really possible at all, simply because the maximum possible win isn't indicated in the paytable! So don't go chasing after it, but you can certainly go after the other lower wins - getting all 15 Bells would still pay an incredible 5000x total bet win! That sounds really good doesn't it, but I won't go chasing after it, hehehe.

GameArt haven't been around for very long and have amongst the lowest number of games available to try in Free Play mode here at AskGamblers. Storming Flame is their newest release and I don't think it's there strongest one unfortunately. It's a basic five line game in a retro style - all the classic fruit machine symbols are included such as bells, lucky "7"s, plums, lemons and oranges plus a scatter although there's no bonus round or free spins awarded for hitting them.

When playing this game for the first time I wondered why the reels were "thudding" into position whenever I got a stack of the same symbol on the first reel. Turns out they have borrowed some ideas from Yggdrasil and a multiplier is applied to all wins that feature 9, 12 or 15 of the same symbol (starting from the left, like usual). Nine oranges at minimum bet for example pays 0.05 on each of the five paylines, tripled for a total of 0.75. Not too exciting, but fifteen lucky "7"s... wow, those pay 50.00 for a line of five which is already 1000x your stake... five paylines gives you 5000x and add the 5x multiplier... wow! I take it back, perhaps this could be one of GameArt's strongest games afterall!

I haven't seen a game capable of paying £1,250 on a 5p bet for a while that's for sure, it's just a shame it's not very exciting. You have to assume that the chances of this happening are of course ridiculously slim and the vast majority of the higher paying symbols such as the bells and 7's appear mainly as single symbols on the reels rather than as stacks, but there is at least one stack of each somewhere on the presumably extremely long reel strips. I played the game for around half an hour today and didn't manage a full screen of any symbol even once, so I guess I'll be waiting a while to get my screen of "7"s, but I do intend to try next time I'm playing with a very small bankroll.

I found the sound quite annoying very quickly, unless you like to hear the beeps of the funfair over and over you will probably want to switch it off. And that's about all there is to Storming Flame! Fun game, big payout potential, but nothing in the way of features to speak of.
