Sticky Bandits: Wild Return Slot

I am not a big fan when it comes to Quickspin slots, although as of late, they offer amazing and super quality slots with high-paying potential. Sticky wilds slots are extremely volatile but are worth the risk, but in the Quickspin version, it's not the same.

This is the 2nd installment of their sticky wild feature slot and the 3rd installment was released a month ago which is a replica of Dead or Alive. Now the graphics and sounds are brilliant and the concept of the slot with Bonus Wild symbols that can fully cover the reel or come as a single symbol sounds awesome.

Here is where my beef is with Quickspin – The paytable sucks! Thus making these types of slots more volatile as you need to be extremely lucky to win big in some of their slots. Sometimes you win x30 or x40 your total bet and it's classified as an EPIC win, Seriously?

I find bonusing this slot takes forever just to have a payout of x10 your total stake. Streamers seem to be very lucky and always win big, or that is what we see I guess.

The game has some base game features but as usual, the excitement and hype are all about the free spins feature. Landing 3 bonus scatter symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5 will award you with 7 free spins. During free spins, any high-value character symbols landing on the reels can turn wild and is sticky for the duration of the free spins feature. So you need a lot of luck and hope to win big during your sessions.

What is more frustrating is that 7 spins sound too little, maybe 10, or if you could re-trigger the feature at least once, would make it worth wild. That just takes away the potential of hitting x1000 winners on the slot, which would attract more players to try this slot.

I hope they would consider other factors when designing these types of slots

Some years ago, Quickspin released its game Sticky Bandits, but that game never caught my interest. It was quite fun to play actually, but the payouts were rather poor mostly. This sequel of Sticky Bandits Wild Return follows the same basic concept, with 2x2 and 3x3 size symbols randomly appearing on the reels, but with a slight twist in its gameplay. Nonetheless, some may like it, some may not, and I’m not one of those who likes it.

Playing with 5 reels 4 rows and 40 lines, the game plays with a starting bet of 20 cents, which is acceptable, but everything is unfortunately not. Getting 5 Wilds on any payline, for example, would only pay an extremely low win of just 10x the bet amount, and that goes for the top regular Lady symbol too. The other symbols have win values of 5x down to 1x, so you can imagine the sort of wins that this game would pay out. There aren’t any win multipliers to boost up the wins, not even for the free spins game, so how the heck can any big wins ever be achieved?

Getting 3 of the Bonus symbols would not pay any win either, but you do get 7 free spins from them, with no retriggering, no additional free spins, and no win multipliers. If this doesn’t suck, I don’t know what else would! During the free spins play, one random Bandit symbol may be shot and be transformed into a Sticky Wild for the remaining of the free spins. Regular symbols do not get shot. There is also another additional feature during the free spins play, and this is the Quick Slot feature, with that symbol only appearing on reel 5. Get that symbol and you get 1, 2 or 3 free spins on a separate 3-reels slot machine. The maximum possible win is 500x, but that’s nothing to get excited about.

Well, that’s about all that you can get out of this game. The base game and the free spins play are both boring, the Quick Slot machine game is no different either, and most of the time you’d be getting very small insignificant wins. However, I did get a decent 136x win from one of the free spins games, but nothing more than that. Play more and try to get bigger wins? No way Jose! There’s simply no way to get big wins, because there’s literally nothing in the game to provide that!
