Spell of Odin is a video slot game with a very dramatic music in the background from 2 By 2 Gaming. The slot does not look very sophisticated though but it does offer some entertainment.

Spell of Odin is a 5 reel and 25 pay lines video slot game that is powered with stacked wilds and a bonus feature. When I played this slot I had quite a long session. It took me some time to activate the features and I did want to see the potential of this game. The highest win that I got during the base game was for landing 5 dark haired lady symbols on an active pay line and a win of 250 x bet. There were some smaller wins too but there were so many losing spins too. I was thinking to quit and I thought to myself that I can leave without knowing the potential of this slot. I got some frustrating feeling while I played the slot and then I managed to land a 200 x bet win. This boosted my balance a bit and I continued playing the game.

It took me really awhile until I managed to land 3 scatter symbols. Then I had to choose between 3 choices. The first one was 12 free spins and x 3 multiplier, the next one is again 12 free spins with extra wilds and scatters and the last one was 12 free spins where the stacked Odin wild will pay x 2 and 2 wilds will pay x 4. I chose the last one because it seemed like the right choice to me at that moment. The free spins feature was a real disappointment to me because I won only 20 x bet.

The Spell of Odin is a nice video slot game I did land some good wins but I would still recommend it to anyone.

As the name of the game suggest the slot deals with Scandinavian mythology which is a very great theme for a gambling product and gives lot of options graphically to make the appearance an unforgettable one but in my opinion 2 by 2 Gaming didn’t live up to the expectations and couldn’t put a really great visual project on the table. Somehow, the graphics of the game are not too good, not worked out and detailed (especially the human characters) and it would have been nice some more specific characters and I also miss here the complementary pictorial solutions like the background image or decorative motives which either don’t exist or represented just in minimal. I’m not saying this interface would be unplayable or ugly, but the theme really gave the possibilities and visually much more, much better and effective things could have been realized and I just think it isn’t a well-done job from the creators’ part.

This 25-payline slot is a little bit divisive for me as there’s feature which is very great and there are others which only looks promising on paper but in reality I don’t see too much advantage of it. My personal favourite is the Odin symbol which is working as Wild and even though it hasn’t got own paying ability and during normal game mode it doesn’t multiply wins and only appears on the middle reel but despite all of these I always like to have Odin(s) on the table and find it much more usable than any bonus games here. This symbol appear on the reel in stacked format and when all three parts of it can be visible on reel 3, then it expands its function to another randomly chosen reel and transform all three symbols there into Wilds. The best here, it very frequently pops up on the reel in full stacked format and lot of times it doesn’t turn symbols on the fourth or last reels and when it does its trick one of the first two reels then some nice rewards are given and most of the times such kind of wins give back at least x20-x50 of total bet.

The only other feature of the slot is the free spin session which consists of always 12 free games but before they are actually played greatly we have a chance to select our favourite bonus type and we have 3 options for that. We can select the Easy Retrigger & Easy Feature option which promises increased chances for appearing Odins and free spin re-trigger but sometimes it just really a promise which doesn’t realized and that’s why I never pick up this possibility. The 2X/4X Wild bonus is only can usable if the Odin appears there in full stacked formula then the wins are doubled or quadrupled but I’ve never experienced too much luck on it and sometimes I can meet more Wilds in base game mode than during this feature so I always come with the most traditional bonus which is very simple as all wins there are multiplied by x3. I think these type of secondary games should offer better qualities but if they have only these attributes at least they must work in reality and but it’s not the case here. As I mentioned earlier, the first two mentioned options are not too great because we must have much luck (more than usual) to see the benefits of them and personally the third one is the only bonus what I find as a fairly functioning side game and at times I can be satisfied with the final result at the end of the extra.

Though I like the flexibility to select my own game but I don’t really like them in practical but they’re still good comparing them to the main prize what a five of kind type success can offer which is only 800 times of line bet. Needless to say, how poor it is and that’s why it’s a mystery for me how it can work along with the great Wild feature.

Overall, if I think about it all over again I think the ability of the stacked Wild to duplicate itself on another reel is the one here what I really like and all other things are just average at best but there are some which simple can’t reach even that level. Every segment, every feature can and maybe should be better here to be considered as a real good game - but with an interface what graphically is questionable and features which are not too useful and the bad payout abilities of winning combinations - I think it wouldn’t be an easy task but in my opinion the developer should try to fix things here because as I see it, probably would be worth it.

Spell of Odin was the 2 by 2 Gaming slot that totally disappointed me. A famous scientist said once that the only way to defeat a casino at roulette (unless you are in a lucky day) is to steal some chips when the dealer in not attentive. I say this now for two reasons: first is because at this slot “Spell of Odin” it seems impossible to win even in a lucky day. The second reason is that probably the slot offers some money just when you are not attentive, because in my opinion losses should be much larger than they actually are.

Yes, at first games the slot is great and it makes you wonder who this Udin (actually Odin) was. Odin is a god from the Norse mythology, which is also found at all German people. Everything is beautiful, Odin is accompanied by two beautiful girls (who I recognize I not know who they are) and when it is located on reel 3 extended it brings another expanded Odin on another reel at random. A boat (Viking for sure), two beautiful girls as I said (extended on 3 positions) and a horse, are among the major symbols. Truly a northern story one could say.

But if you look in the paytable you are totally disappointed. Of the three major symbols, the maximum payout is ... 8 Euros. When the bet is 25 cents! This is terrible. And if you play here you do not very often have a win equal to the bet, otherwise a disappointment will follow another disappointment. To realize how small these wins are, here above there are a Big Win and Win a Mega that I had. Just to say again I paid 25 cents, and the Win Big value was about 3 Euros, that is 10x! I mean if the slot is generous it pays 10x bet, otherwise the wins are below 1x. To speak about Free Games it is too much, they exist but only theoretically, because in 15-30 minutes, I never had those 3 “bonuses” required.

Just the beautiful story here compensates for the weak play, but at some point you get tired of how many small wins you had.

As I said, probably just because when you are not careful slot gives you some money because I still fail to figure out how in 300 spins I lost only 18 Euro!
